Great place to Dial in
You pretty much use every club in the bag to dial in your game.
Much Improved
Course improvements are going in the right direction. Since replacing course management in March the course is looking so much better. Greens and fairways are much improved. The rough around the greens is also maintained. Still need to improve tree line and boundaries with weeding and removing fallen or hanging branches as this would make the course look worthy of the cost for an executive course.
Great conditions, awesome staff.
This was my second time playing El Cariso. The course conditions are nearly perfect. From my understanding, they hired a new Landcape Manager, who has turned this course into one of LA’s best Municipal courses.
The staff are very welcoming. Sometimes those golf pro’s will stare at you and judge when you’re in the pro shop. Not the case here. Everyone was so friendly that I just wanted to hangout.
It was a 99° Tuesday afternoon, but there were probably 5 other groups out there. My buddy and I played 36 holes in 4.5 hours.
One of my favorite
I like everything at this course. Small adjustment could be to have ice boxes to keep drinks cool
New management not up to speed
Too many players piled up.
Nice new golf carts but there seem to be a shortage.
Too much grace time given to incomplete foursomes caused us to tee off one hour late.
There were no food and beverage options because they decided to not open that day.
Great Beginner Course
Great holes even a challenging hole with a great twist. it was Awesome..
Decent Course
Course overall is okay. Good for beginners for a Par 4 course. Greens are well maintained. Tees boxes are a mess on some holes more so than others. Some sand traps should be renamed mud pits or dirt pools because it was a joke. Pricing for carts on an 18 course at $56 bucks is a bit steep. Rustic Canyon in Moorpark is only $20 more but for a Par 5 and well maintained course.
Needs ALOT of work
Yikes, I had high expectations for this course based on other reviews but was extremely disappointed. Tee time was 10:30am, and we immediately experienced delays on each hole. The groups here are all over the place, mostly sub par players that haven't played in a while. Despite many groups being backed up, there was no marshall making sure groups were keeping a proper pace of play. It took 4 hours to play 12 holes..on a par 3 course. we were waiting 10-15 minutes on each hole before we could tee off. The amateur groups were playing 2-3 balls and did not have good etiquette for groups waiting behind them. We ended up leaving after the 12th hole once we realized it would take another 2 hours to finish the last 6 holes..
A fun course
They said it has been taken over by new management. So there were no tee box numbers but easy to navigate once you got going. The greens were in great condition one of the best I’ve played in LA, will be back again soon
