About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

Loving this course - I'm coming back!!
First time playing here - loved the course. Played 9 holes and used 4 different clubs off the tee - nicely challenging and I've already booked to come back this week.
The grass is perfection.
There is a reason it’s hard to get a tee time
Place is in great condition with lovely holes that make you think without being too difficult to enjoy.
Challenging Fun
For a novice golfer this is a challenging course. Scenery is beautiful the conditions are wonderful and I want to play again

Nice, 3 different 9s,ask for Huron
3 different 9s, 2 of the 9s greens were top coated and rolled, hard not receptive, Huron is 9 not too coated and excellent, alot of wildlife, iguana tree! Ask for Huron
Precision golf
Play the heron in the eagle today. Both now at nines had their challenging moments. From the tea boxes on several of the holes you needed to be exact on where you were going to hit your shot. Being long is not that important here. The greens were in very good condition. And the bunkers and in fairways were well kept up.
All good except for Golf Shop
Golf shop guys were kinda "rough", other than that - it was awesome. Starter was excellent, got me out a little early, course was in great shape, the greens had been top-dressed that day - but they told me about that in a message they sent BEFORE I played (nice touch).
Lots of dogleg holes, but very fun and fair test.

A Course Revisited
I used to go to Okeeheelee every Wednesday late afternoon to take my daughter to Junior Golf run by Donna White and Bobby Brown starting when she was 5 years old. The boys and girls first learned the Rules of Golf, then hit balls on the practice range and, when they were ready, go play in 4-hole tournament hitting from red cones because the red tees were too long for them. They eventually grew and starting playing further back, My friend Peter took his son. He ended up playing on a golf scholarship at Chico State and my daughter played for the University of Florida. Many other played college golf. It was a memorable experience to play there rather than walking on the sidelines.
Thank you for the trip down memory lane! We have molded many junior golfers here at Okeeheelee, including and not limited to BROOKS KOEPKA! Awesome to hear that your daughter ended up playin at UF, Donna White is a member of the Hall of Fame there. Small world. We hope to see you guys again soon!
Course is great!
Course is in great condition! The fairways are nice and the greens are decent!
Great scenery and fun layout.
Really nice setup. Lots of fun holes and unique approach shots. Greens were a little slow, but that’s my only small complaint. Play at twilight the sunset was incredible!

Course has New Greens 60 days old
Great course well maintained. New greens put in 60 days ago they are fantasitic.
You got that right! Eagle and Osprey were both regrassed in the summer of 2020 and Heron will be regrassed in the coming summer of 2021! Thanks for helping us spread the word about the new greens.
