About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

Worst experiences ever come from this course
Conditions are ok, and would be worth playing if you were the only ones on the course. However, at Okeeheelee they like to bunch so many people on there that rounds may not be complete in 4.5 hours (I have had multiple 9's take 3 hours each, different years). Rangers and starters are ALWAYS absolutely clueless, and don't even understand the concept of customer service.
If you're some old fogey that likes to play excessively slow rounds, have at it. Other than that, don't bother playing here. Even the other county courses have a much better pace more often than not.
Great Course
Great value for the money. Course was in great condition. Pretty and well maintained. Elevations you don't usually find in FL. Played Heron and Eagle. Eagle had the elevations. Water, water everywhere with wide fairways and wind at your back!! LOL on that last comment.

I believe this course is challenging and one of the best public courses in Florida always in great condition and fairly priced

Great value with excellent service
Okeeheelee is a pleasant surprise. The design is
very interesting. The condition was quite good. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. All of this adds up to an incredible value for $29 (including cart and GolfNow fee. I would play there again and again.

Great value and challenging
Played course for the first time. Paired up with a player with course knowledge which was a benefit. Greens were good and almost healed from airifcation. This facility is a great value. Range is good. Speed of play was good and monitored. Pro shop is complete. The only less than adequate comment would be the bunkers were very hard. The sand was very course with a lot of stones and shells.
We are glad to hear that you had a good experience on your first ever trip to Okeeheelee. We at Palm Beach County Golf pride ourselves in keeping golf affordable for everyone and are happy to hear you feel we are meeting that goal.
In regards to the bunkers, we will be replenshing the sand as part of our yearly maintenance this month.

keep it on the fairway
Great course. Amazing for a county course!!. Course conditions were country club quality. A few beat up tee boxes but if something is going to be beat up thats the least of worries.
Shot making course. Keep it on the fairway or close to it. Bring a few extra balls, but if you have not played here you shoud.

Challenging course - local favorite
As a beginner I find this course very challenging, mainly due to the number of water hazards. That being said, it is the closest course to my house and is a very good public course with reasonable prices. There is also a nice driving range and chip and putt areas so I can continue to work on my game. I look forward to to continuing to grow as a golfer with this as my home course.

Great course
I've played about 20 courses in the area and this one is the prettiest. The conditions are good when I played but the greens were not perfect as they were aerated recently.
Quality experience
One of the better run county courses around. Very well staffed and maintained.

GOOD GREENS & GOOD FAIRWAYS BUT THEY STOPPED PUTTING WATER OUT ON THE COURSE I GUESS THAT'S A WAY TO SAVE MONEY BUT COME ON GUY'S IT'S THE START OF SUMMER !! BUT ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GOOD TIME

Everything was good greens were very nice a little fast but in great shape.Nice course layout loved the eagle course does have alot of water that makes or breaks you but with good management can shoot low scores playing there again soon.

Great course. Very up kept and very nice. Only problem is that there are too many water hazards. You really have to be skilled at keeping it on the fairway. Otherwise it's in the water. Would play it again any though.

Not your typical South Florida Golf course.
Varied terrain, elevated bunkers, natural and well laid man made hazards, beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife... What's not to like!?!
I have never lost so many golf balls and had so much fun doing it.
I loved it and will be back!

NO-keeheelee
Nobody repairs pitch marks any more, I gave up after the 4th hole. I found the staff in the clubhouse couldn't care less about you. The guys at the bag drop were good!

the tee off on most of the holes were very badly groomed
