Good value
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in very good condition. 4-5 fairways were very narrow, better be hitting your clubs straight!
Rough
Still in bad shape from the storm! Golf now shouldn’t be selling tee times at 2:00 when they close at 5:00! Yes that right we showed for our te3 time at 2:04 & was told the carts hav3 to be in by 4:50 pm. Not Fair Golf Now! To boot the greens were very spotty & rough. Still water in places where there is usually no water. Lots of weeds. We won’t be back for several months till it gets into shape.
Fun Executive Course
The course was cart path only, due to over-seeding. A little extra walking is a good thing (just my $.02). This is a really fun course. I play here at least 5-6 times a year and I’m from Orlando, FL. It’s worth the hour and a half-drive, for me.
Staff is a joke
Do not spend a single dime here. Pro shop worker is the complete opposite of friendly. Wouldn’t let me play because my 5 year old was going to be in the cart with me. Never heard of a rule like this in my life. YOUR COURSE IS TEERIBLE. WHO do they think they are, bay hill?. The audacity of a goat track. Never again. (This is the first review I’ve ever written, which should tell you how bad this is)
Greens are in rough shape
We've been playing this course for several years now and it was always in nice shape. The hurricaine took down many trees and most of the fairways were in decent shape. Number 7 and number 9 had big areas of mud short of the greens and actually had to use our ball retriever to get our ball on 7.. The ball actually bounced on most of the greens and there were bare spots on every green.. We might try it again in the spring. I sure hope they can get it back to the way it used to be.
Still recovering from damage
The course reopened the day we played, after being closed for a couple of months due to hurricane damage and flooding, Lots of ruts and it was cart path only the day we played. Overall, about as good as can be expected. The rough however, is a ball eater. Better stay in the fairway if you can.
Good course
The course was nice but they are currently using temporary greens for the front 9 and those are awful. When the real greens are back up, I could see this been a 5 out of 5 like the back 9.
Just don’t go
This hands down the worst course I’ve been to, wasn’t warned that the ENTIRE front nine doesn’t have any greens. And yes I said greens. They had the pins placed in front of where the usual greens are. Yes that means pins on the fairway, once again with no warning. The people should’ve told us.

Hello, caden2810. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Southport Springs Golf & Country Club.
7 14 24
Course is in good condition. But 7 of the 9 greens on the front are temporaries. I was not aware and neither was Golf! Now. Will be that way for 6 weeks. I'll be back after the greens are open.
condition poor
when we got there we were told about the 6 temporary greens!!!overall condition was poor!!!that explains the empty parkinglot on the bright side it took us 2 hours to play 18

Needs work…
You would have thought we played two different courses. The front was horrific, temp greens, fairway and tee boxes were a mess. I hope they at working on it, I would love to come back in 6 months if the front 9 looked like the back 9. The back was I great shape, couple little spots on a couple of greens but it was like a completely different course. If they get the front looking like the back, wow. They were nice when we got there and told us about it as well as gave us a discounted price.

Thank you for your comments.
We are working on getting the front greens as good as the back ones, as you mentioned. Please give it a 6 to 8 weeks and they will be as good.
Thank you for your comments we appreciate constructive input. From where the course was after the storm, to now, is day and night. It may not be perfect, Most people are just happy to play here and understand what we had to deal with.
