Links of Lake Bernadette
About
The Links of Lake Bernadette enjoys verdant landscaping and a rolling terrain that are perfectly complemented by mature and towering pines. At 6,400 yards, the golf course is seemingly short but it feels like it plays much longer due to frequent doglegs that can be found throughout. Six of the par 4s play over 400 yards and a few par 3s measure over 200 yards, which also helps the course feel longer. Water hazards and bunkers come into play but they are balanced by large greens and wide fairways that make for easier approaches. Although beginners won't feel out of place and there are four different sets of tees, the golf course boasts several tricky holes that will challenge even the best players. One of these, the 163-yard 13th, was once called the best par 3 in Tampa Bay.

Too muddy
Probably should have not let play happen on this day as it was extremely wet & muddy.
Major Improvemnet
I’ve lived next to & have played this course for (3) years. NEVER has the overall state of the course been to this level. During my time here I would give the course an ranking at its best a 3 out of 5. Today I would rank it among one of the BEST of the reasonably priced courses in this area. The greens are great!, there is actual sand in the bunkers, the t-boxes & fairways have been improved,, they’re starting to repair the broken cart paths, and they have all new golf carts, and a multi-dollar Rene action to the club house. A much needed Course Superintendent along with some new crew members has been a much needed change. One thing they still need is a much needed screened in lanai off the front side of the club house. BUCK
New owners have made improvements
The course is in good shape. New owners have made great improvements. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the number of wet areas and we have not had any rain.
Making progress
Stayed away for a while based on reviews saying it was in bad shape and need of money infusion. New owner this year has done a good job fixing the clubhouse, replacing (not patching) the greens, upgrading the carts. Still work to do but it is looking much better and interaction with those playing the course during the day had similar reactions. Had been fearful but really encouraged by what we see.
Pleasant surprise
This first time I’ve been back to the course in several months. The course is in great shape. Greens were a little slow, but in great shape. Overall tees and fairways very good shape. The amenities of the course, the restaurant much improved. I expect to come back soon!
Really nice. Up to 18. New sod put down. Couple of weeks should be good
Fun course great staff
Me and my fiancé Golf this course at least once a week it’s her favorite course because the pace to play is always fantastic there’s always other people on the course but not enough to be crowded and to feel rushed and even if someone does catch you you know you can always let them pass you and then once again have your freedom could be a couple more bathrooms outside that would help a lot but overall the manager John that runs this place is amazing one of the most friendly gentleman I’ve ever met my life.
Velcro
The greens were like putting on Velcro, the ball went nowhere,
Be careful when booking thru GolfNow
The course, itself, was okay. A few areas on the fairway had deep, muddy tire tracks. The cart path, where there was one, was in horrible shape. Needs a lot of work. My biggest complaint, however, has to do with GolfNow’s “Convenience Fee.” I reserved my 3-some TeeTime through Golf Now, paying a $8.00 reservation fee. However, when I checked in at the golf course, they refused to deduct that from the total and said it was GolfNow’s Convenience Fee and next time I should make my reservation directly with the golf course. However, when I tried to do that, I was referred to the GolfNow website.
Greens are back
Course was in good (not great) shape. Most importantly, the greens are in good shape.
(I still don't understand why almost no courses down here plant grass seed, whatever grows, grows ? Weed, grass, whatever grows, grows How about some weed killer and then new grass seed ? Should be course maintenance rule 1, no ?).
The course was fairly wet in spots, but should completely dry out as winter approaches.
The course is making many improvements including tee boxes and especially the greens which are in excellent condition. The course still doesn't drain well so we worked around those areas. Overall a good time.
A Force To Be Reckoned With
The transformation of this course is nothing short of miraculous. The greens are superb as are the tee boxes. It is self evident that management has taken many steps to revitalize this course. Will definitely recommend to others and keep coming back.
