Silverado Golf & Country Club
About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

Great coarse
People super friendly and the coarse is in great shape
Rain has really helped this course always enjoy this course
What Happened?
I played here a month ago & the course was in excellent shape, way batter than several courses I play regularly & for half the price. I get on the course today & the tees (the ones not being worked on) are chewed up for the most part & the back tees were sure back alright. Some were so far back if they went any further you'd be hitting on the backside of the tee box with a sidehill lie! On top of that, they were just not in good shape, whether it's just disease, people not fixing divots, lack of proper care I'm not sure but not as good as they were the last time I played here. Many fairways also were in need of some TLC, though I rarely found the bad spots. As for the greens, most were in good shape but were easily the slowest greens I've putted on since I was a teenager playing local county courses on Long Island 50 years ago. First green I had a 12' putt & hit it a little harder than I did just last week at a different course & the ball literally went 4'. I couldn't believe I 3 putted from 12' with 2 putts not reaching the hole. Yeah, that's on me but I'd bet these weren't a 4 on a Stimpmeter.
The course also still puts a hurting on my back & neck with all the bumps & ruts & that hasn't changed since the first time I set foot on the course 10 years ago. Still, even with my complaints, you probably won't find a course around that's comparable for the price. I did say I wouldn't recommend Silverado but it's really dependent on who I'm talking to.
Silverado
This is one of my favorites, really enjoy playing Silverado. The course is always well maintained and the staff are friendly. Greens are in very good shape. Plan to play again soon.
Silverado Golf
Conditions were well below expectations. Greens were very slow and inconsistent. Tee boxes were in poor condition with few good areas to hit from. The pace was also very slow with no good supervision to move groups along efficiently.
Sticky rice
I’ve played the course every week for almost a year and this was the worst I’ve ever seen it. The bathrooms on the course were terrible and like they haven’t Been cleaned in a month. The greens had been aerated and the fill they used was light sticky rice. I should’ve known something was going on with the price of $20 but it would’ve been nice to have been told. That would explain the half empty parking lot that is usually full. Some the ball washers had no fluid in them. Didn’t find any with soap. I guess it’s just that time of year.
Silverado
The course is good but the cart paths require some serious repairs.
Great short cour6
Everything was a-okay except some of the t boxes were a bit chewed up. Other than that the greens, the fairways and the layout was just enjoyable.
