Great round
New management is doing a good job with the course. Facilities can use some work. Overall, really enjoyed the course!
Nice views and people but won’t be back
Geographical nightmare. Sloped fairways made it impossible to hold a tee shot even with a dead center shot on 75% of the holes. Greens were not consistent making it hard to judge. Some fast, some slow and what is it with California not repairing ball marks? Frustrating. As much as I wanted to like this course, Getting there was aggravating (terrain) but pace of play and only 10-20% of shots being on level ground and on grass was enough to make me spend my money elsewhere next time. I went at 12:30 on a Wednesday and it played like a Saturday afternoon. So slow and no starter or Marshal’s to help keep pace. There’s better courses for the same or less money.
One of the Best Public Courses
Tilden was a great course! This will be my new weekly course. The views were amazing and the holes were the perfect amount of complexity. Great value, great views, great location. The coyotes, birds, and deer were everywhere!
The Berkeley Hills
It was a cold, windy and foggy day. The driving range was out of balls and the picker was broken. Otherwise, I generally love this course. It is not long, but it has some nuanced features. You will see plenty of redwood trees and possibly a coyote and some wild turkeys.
A True Physical Challenge
Most beautiful course in the the bay! A true peaceful and humbling challenge. Several elevated tees with awesome views. Stretch those legs if you walk the course. Grass is cut is fantastic. Trees are being trimmed at this time. But does not effect the play. Come early and take advantage of the chipping and putting area. Great place to practice your pitch. The range is huge. Two levels.
Hilly nightmare
Very very hilly, fairways were a mixture of mud and grass, you didn’t know where the next tee was half the time, they need better signage. I won’t play there again
Not my favorite course
Tee boxes chewed up, greens pretty beat up (why can't people fix their ball marks?) some of the holes are pretty stupid. Other then that I had a good time with some nice people...
Tilden Park
The course was in decent shape. Pase of play was a little slow and the holes that were in the shade were very soggy. The tee boxes could use some help.
Disappointment on 2 levels
My friends and I played Tilden on a stunning winter day. We love the environment but were surprised by the poor condition of the course. Warning to those who go to Tilden- absolutely do NOT park in the upper lot. My catalytic converter was stolen in broad daylight while we played. I won’t be back.
Call before you book
Unfortunately when I showed up to pay my green fees there was a cart fee that wasn’t mentioned within the online golf now app. Disappointing when showing up to the course. It was not a big deal however, lesson learned is double check your itinerary. This was not the courses issue as they were sure to point out to me. The staff clearly is not happy with the association with golf now which lends me to never recommend this course. The course was not in good shape however, the greens were in great condition. I wouldn’t recommend this facility based on the staff and the way they handled the situation. Definitely a course you want headphones on….
Blue skies golf Mother Nature style
Could not ask for a nicer day. Play Tilden when it’s like this you won’t complain. Greens healing and very nicely I should add. They will be good Thru the fall.
Turf grass conditions green and nice today with elevation changes. Walk this course! Watch weather as rain makes this course a little sloppy.
Not today…
