Great place to play golf
Great course! Well-maintained fairways and fast greens. Will definitely come back.
Dry Bun
I had a hotdog from the restaurant and the bun was dry.
Disappointing Experience – This Course Desperately Needs Better Management
We’ve been coming to Diamond Bar Golf Course for over a year, and it’s disappointing to see how far the experience has declined. The place needs a serious overhaul, not just of the course itself, but of the staff and management as well. If I were managing this course, I would be embarrassed by the poor conditions, the lack of consistency, and the overall attitude of the employees.
Course & Grounds:
The condition of the course is horrific. Several fairways are unplayable; you can hit dead center and still end up in a pool of mud. These issues have persisted for over a year with no sign of improvement. There’s also no enforcement of pace of play, making rounds drag on unnecessarily.
Even worse, we’ve repeatedly had problems with a groundskeeper following our group during play. On multiple occasions, he has moved tee boxes and even changed flag positions on the green while we were still playing the hole. It’s unacceptable and completely ruins the experience. Management failed to address this properly when we brought it up.
Staff & Management:
The morning staff are consistently rude and dismissive. One employee in particular greets guests with sarcasm and a condescending tone. Management’s handling of customer issues is just as poor. When there was a simple check-in mix-up that led to a $30 overcharge, instead of resolving the issue professionally, the manager argued, defended their mistake, and offered no proof of our supposed “error.”
Food & Amenities:
The cart snacks are subpar, and the restaurant food has been even worse. Two members of our party got sick after eating there on separate occasions. For a course in this area, the lack of quality control is shocking.
Overall:
Diamond Bar Golf Course needs new leadership that takes responsibility for both the condition of the course and the customer experience. The problems here are ongoing and widespread, and until management steps up, I cannot recommend this course to anyone.
Ehhh
Overall decent course and the new layout was fun. Biggest downside was how horrible the greens were. It’s such a heavy traffic course the greens were riddled with divots.
Greens are rough
Course is great and in decent shape overall.
A few of the greens are unplayable though.
Tons of pitch marks that aren’t repaired probably from the late day bookings that sit on one hole and hit a ton of shots into the green.
Concerned
The course was delightfully fun since I grew up playing here. Was interested in seeing changes made after freeway expansion. Lots of memories of playing with friends. My concern is the shape of the greens. Pitted with divots, does anybody not know how to repair while playing. This was very disappointing that course maintenance not taking care of. But really disappointing is players being lazy and think they are above repairing them self. If you can’t fix your divot don’t play. We were also told cart person available and saw none. And no marshals available to monitor pace of play. American golf needs to pay more attention to a great classic course.
Needs a marshal
Greens are full of holes. Crazy slow played 4 holes and left. Never play again.
Nice and Open course
Very well kept course, everyone is very friendly there as well. Nice that the Range was open at 6:00am before we tee'd off.
Pace of play and quality of the greens
I have played this course for over 30 years and in that time ,yesterday was probably the worst pace of play day. Not also to say how atrocious the greens were with un repaired ball marks. People, this is a newly renovated course. There is no reason what so ever to have the greens like this. If you have any sort of golf etiquette , bend over and fix your ball mark. And while your there, fix 5 more. As for your on 1st tee starter and Marshall's, yeah you need alot of work. Your starter is sending a single out between a 3 some and a 4 some. You don't do that on the weekend with every weekend warrior out there. And as for your Marshall's, tell them to pull there heads out out and get on people when they fall behind 2 1/2 holes and 6 groups are stacked up on 3 holes. Very disappointed with the pace of play and the lack of care to get groups around in 4 1/2 hours , not 5 1/2 -6.
Freeway
The course right next to 57 frwy but you get used to the humming noise. Course was in great condition and greens were faster and in better shape than all the other courses played in the last 6 months. One of the best courses east of LA I would recommend
Pace of play makes a round here hard to enjoy
Tee time was at 1:00 didn’t tee off until 1:30. Waited at least 5 min on every tee and finished the front 9 in just under 3 hours. I ended up leaving after 9.
7 hours to finish round
Should not be allowed to walk the course on a weekend. 8 mins in between tee times is criminal. Tee time was around 10:20 and we didn’t tee off till 10:50(already backed up)… ended our round around 5:15… asked Marshall (Ramon) to speed up some play. Ramon said “it’s not up to me and there was nothing he can do” but he can sit at the club house and talk. Go figure. Lots of drunk people on the course with no course etiquette either. Driving from fairway to fairway looking for balls and then picking up your ball from the current fairway and then re dropping it. TLDR; Very slow play(lots of walkers) who should not be walking, Marshall would rather be at the club house. And lots of drunk people zig zagging through fairways. (I play a course 2-3 times before writing a review)
Aeration on Greens
Hi Diamond Bar Golf Course,
I just wanted to mention that I did not receive any notification about the greens being aerated. It would be really helpful for players to get a heads-up when maintenance like this is scheduled. Just a suggestion for the future. Thanks!
Worst Time Ever
This is the first time I’ve ever been to this course. My teatime was at 3:48. We didn’t get out till 430. They were overbooked and they had no Marshall on the course to keep the pace of play. There was one point where we were sitting at a tea box for 20 minutes. We finished 12 holes when we should’ve finished 18 I went up to complain and the gentleman at the front who wasn’t the service manager just stated we schedule everybody every eight minutes however they could not keep the pace. I would never go there again unless this is resolved.
