The Golf Club at Rancho California

I usually arrive one hour before tee time so I can hit a bucket of balls chip and put before playing my round. I was told I had to return 15-20 minutes before my tee time. to get my cart, Hmmm. I then overheard staff tell another person he could take a cart and that people who pay on GOLFNOW have to wait because that is how they do things. I thought that was pretty rude. Several greens had dry spots and the grass around the green was overgrown. Lastly, throughout the course there was overhanging tree limbs over the cart paths.

It’s in decent shape, not the best I’ve ever seen it, but not the worst either. We played insanely quick so that makes it worth it:

Another review was correct. This is going downhill fast! Management only cares about scamming an extra $10 upon check in. You will be charged this “hidden” fee if you prefer to ride as a single or if your playing partner chooses to ride as a single/you now become a single and pay for your own cart as well; also if you are playing with a twosome and you are the one single/you will have to pay the extra $10 no matter what! This is all the management cares about! This course should NOT have an SCGA designation. Greens were not cut and patchy; fairways becoming the rough/uneven with weeds growing. Poor course conditions do not inspire great play/confidence. Stay away at all costs!

Course was in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. Random water issues on nearly every hole- either bone dry or standing water- nothing in between. Fairways are a mess with multiple types of grass in them- but either barren and muddy or overgrown. Greens have a fungal issue and every green had bare dead patches. On top of all this, it took us 5 hours and 20 minutes to finish as we had two super slow groups ahead of us and no Marshall in site. Stay away until they start maintaining this course better!

This is a great layout but the fairways and rough are a mess with a variety if grasses, weeds, and bare spots. Watering us inconsistent throughout so my ball was covered in mud most of the round. I recommend improving lies everywhere or you will have a bad time. The greens are in overall good shape but very slow and bumpy. This course needs some TLC!

Had a fun time with friends, the course layout and green was better than last week. We'll come back to play again soon.

Greens were terrible.. unfortunate because it is a fun layout.

Course overall in good shape. Mature trees, decent fairways for middle of desert during CA Drought. Tee boxes in good shape. Greens however, not very good. They were very choppy and rough. I putted on smoother shag carpets. They need to be rolled and cut. Letting them grow during week makes sense especially in this climate but cut them for the weekends and they will look and feel much better.

Played afternoon in the heat of the day. 3 hr round! No delays. Lots of nice people. Some great long holes, tall tee boxes, excellent views. I’ll always come back here!

Nice track to golf. Unfortunately today most of the greens were in terrible shape. Ball would bounce to the hole. Fairways were decent.

We booked a threesome on golfnow. A 4th player joined us. They charged him an extra 10 dollars because he didn’t know us and wanted his ow n cart. No problem. The problem is because he wanted to ride alone they charge our third person to check in 10 dollars extra also. My question is if we only had three playing that day are we gonna be charged 10 extra? That’s not right.

Greens were in very poor condition. I’ll wait a couple month’s before I go back.
