The Golf Club at Rancho California

I’ve played this course many times over the past 16 years. The fairways are in great shape, tee boxes are in good shape for the most part. The layout is great and they recently added some nice white crushed sand in the green side bunkers. But the best part of the course is the greens. The are very fair and true. I love hitting into them, your ball will hold the greens and if you hit shots with spin they will spin back. The speed of the greens are perfect not to fast not to slow. Putting these greens are the best part of the course. I would rate the greens a 9.5 out of 10.

Overall conditions of the course was good. There were some dead-spots and some areas needing some work ... but overall good shape. Greens held very well, and rolled well also. Pace of play was fairly good ... waited a little on some t-boxes.

Prepaid green fees and the course left customers waiting for over 45 minutes instead of releasing them earlier, 1st tee was open for 45 minutes with no one teeing off, poor management decisions.

I really like this course, it's challenging but fair. The price is like most courses in the area is getting a bit too high. Everyone wants to charge more but the condition of the courses don't improve proportionally. The staff is pretty nice, except the course has this bizarre rule that they won't give you a cart until 15 minutes before your tee time,! So if you want to go to the range which is across the street you have to lug your clubs over and back it's ridiculous. Other than that it's one of my favorite tracks.

I'm 75 and no longer hit 250 yard drives. This course has only 6 senior tees and I can't reach the par 4's in regulation and the par 5 4th hole either. I have complained before and nothing has changed, like talking to a stone wall!! This is why I play at other courses. I only play here once in a blue moon when my friends book a tee time there. I know I won't here any reply from this course, just venting

Course was in good shape. Greens ran nice. Check in staff friendly. New young lady where you get the balls also very friendly.

I play golf single most of the time, now courses

are charging $10 extra for single golfer?

Played the course when it first opened it was very pristine now course is in really bad shape would not recommend anybody playing it

Waited on every tee box and watched a group of 4 Asian ladies who were not on the tee sheet and already played 18 that morning, play in front of me the entire time. I asked to play thru and they pretended to not understand and drove off twice. The 9th hole, another gentleman joined me and we still waited for the ladies. He accidentally hit one close to them after they had already walked off the green and were sitting in there carts and they started yelling at us even tho we were yelling fore. Then a maintenance worker started cussing at me in Spanish for telling the ladies we yelled “Fore!” This is a place for people who don’t know anything about golf and clearly don’t care about upholding golf values. Please don’t spend money here. It’s wasted on useless people like the maintenance worker thinking he could cuss in Spanish or the employees who let 4 women who weren’t even on the tee sheet tee off in front of other paying customers. Don’t play there.

I can’t comprehend the neglect that has gone into this course. Long gone are the glory days when the SCGA owned and managed this great layout. Today the course is a shabby shell of what is used to be. Played it recently to see if it was possible to host a tournament here. Every aspect of this once great course has been let go. Despite that, I still inquired about holding a tournament there. The person in the shop told me they didn’t know who was in charge of booking tournaments and to try the website. I did and left multiple messages and emails for the person listed in charge with no response. I tried calling again and leaving another message, but received no call back. A great layout that has been abused and mismanaged to the point i have no desire to ever return.

Mid day 3 hour round for our twosome. The course was greener than it's been and certainly more than others. Grass was hide your ball long in the rough and greens were a lil fuzzy, but true and not slow. Never had a bad lie in fairway.. New fluffy white sand has begun to show up in some of the greenside bunkers, an obvious joy compared to the original hard packed brown in the others.

They happened to close the grill/beer dispenser before 4pm on a Monday., I do hate that!
