Twilight in the Hills

Came to SH today to see what it’s like now, it had been about 4-5 years since I played here. Was greeted by CB (Orange Tabby Cat) who was super friendly, then Tom in the Pro Shop who was nice & friendly as well. Went to the first tee at my time only to be leap frogged by another single & a group of young teens with no real time just going out when they could. (All this while the “Marshall” was hanging out at the Pro Shop) so it didn’t start out great. I played the first 3 holes then went under the tunnel to the back 9 holes teed off 10.. then waited & waited & waited.. so I picked up & jumped around eventually making my way back to the front 4-9 to finish so no real structure to pace of play. But hey.. it’s a Muni Course in the IE what do we expect?

Fairways, tee boxes & sand need help. Greens are okay rather bumpy but again.. it’s a muni in the IE. Happy Hunting folks.

On a side note the young man working the snack bar today went above & beyond I came in around 5:30 he was closed but still went inside & got me a beverage when he didn’t have to. Thank you!!

Good course BUT

My son and I play this course about once a month. We normally use it as a warm up round for more difficult courses. The staff and facility is always great. However it always seems to play slow. Today I realized why.....they had three 5 somes and we saw one group of 7. I think that adding a Marshall out on the course may help to aleaveate this problem.

Got Bites

Most everything was expected except on the back nine myself and several of my foursome got bit by some bug . We think it’s was fleas. I saw a homeless camp along the fence.

Not worth the money

Not only is the course in poor condition, the layout requires you have your head on a swivel. The fairways are so rough, you'll wish you were walking and not bumping around in a cart.
