Gem
This course is the best public course in the San Gabriel valley IMO. The tee boxes are in good shape. The fairways and rough are in great condition and kept at a good height. The rough is deep enough to challenge you but is not too deep that higher handicappers would struggle to advance the ball. The greens are always in good shape and roll pretty smooth and at good pace. The traps can be dragged for softer condition but that’s all they need because they have enough sand(I’m sure it’s due to the rain lately). The sand is not hard or dirt like many other courses around. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were there a little early and they let us go out when we arrived. I’m torn with giving great markings because I love to have the course to myself…Lol
Interesting latout
The greens are the highlight of this course. fast and receptive. Layout is poor its almost every hole that you are in danger of getting hit by a golf ball from another hole. Pace was not great finished in just under 5hrs.
Our Condition
After all of the rain we just had, it livened the fairways and greens. They’re in great shape. I recommend playing here. Unfortunately, they do not have a club house at this time and the beers are kept in an ice chests. Ice was already melted and the beers were not that cold. So bring your own. 🤣🤣🤣.
SDC is really shining right mow
Course is in the best shape I’ve ever seen it in and the pace was great even with a tournament occurring throughout the course. Highly recommend!
The GolfNow price is not the same as advertised when booking a tee time through the app the coarse charged more than it said when booking
Clubhouse is still under construction for like 2 years now they took the gps screens off the carts no cart girl no Marshall to be seen
This has many horror stories
I always thought the management ruined this course and now hearing how scammy it is with other reviews, I know now that I was not the only one to think that. Golfnow is pretty good, I think it is more the Sam Dimas Canyon course that has a problem with making it clear how much the cost really is. They make up charges in players and as an avid golfer, I feel their pain. Along with all the hackers on the course, marshall is on phone doing nothing.
Golf Carts Are A Rip Off
This is my main complaint. When I made the tee time for the course I didn’t know the golf cart fees weren’t included. Have made tee times before to this course and they always included the golf cart. Plus after we get there they charged us $20 per person for the carts. So for 2 people it was $40! So instead of thinking I got a good deal to play for $39.00 + golfnow fees of $2.50 I paid $61.50! And this was supposed to be a Hot Deal. Golf now should post how much the cart fees are going to be.
Nice
This was a very nice course and the layout was great. Playing conditions were very good. Definitely would play here again.
5 and half hr round
The last two time I played on a Friday afternoon the round took 5 1/2 hr plus.
Very slow pace
Pro shop was under renovation for over a year now and still going. No proper restroom, only 2 filthy temporary portable restroom available and no bath tissue to be found. Make sure you bring your own if you need to go.
Fairway and green condition were both good but the pace of play has a lot to be desired. There were no marshals to be found and two of us spent 5 hours to finish the round which is ridiculous.
Starter is bad and place has gone downhill
So many hackers and the staff seems miserable. Used to be a decent course, now in bad shape with management. I would avoid, not even worth the lower tee times fees.
The Starter denied my Golf Now Reserved Price
I booked a twosome for a $40 rate, including cart, but the starter refused to give it to me and said we had to pay $56 each. He said the $40 is if I would have booked it directly with the course and not gone through the GN app. It made no sense since the app said $40 per person. But since my buddy already paid and was waiting for me to arrive, our tee time was in a few minutes and there was a crowd of early golfers, I just paid to get it over with and enjoy a round of golf. But something fishy is going on there and I don’t believe the starter is an honest person. Beware!!
Good Condition but rude starter.
Pace was fine and course looked great after the rains. Starter must’ve had a bad day with the attitude my group was met with. Really dampened the excitement we had to play here again before we even teed off.
