Pace of play
I really enjoy coming here it’s a beautiful course.. but the staff needs to really get out there and monitor some of these slow people
Pace of play is horrendous
San dimas could be a very nice experience but they squeeze in tee times too close together and it leads to the worst pace of play in all the area. 5 hrs plus to finish 18 and we started at 1130. To play 55 dollars to just sit there and watch people tee off the blues hitting it 150 yards then rolling it all the way to hole. The Marshall came around and we told her the problem to ask them to speed up and she just kept giving them the excuse of they are older and can’t hit it as far. The point was for them to just speed up. Hit off the reds to whites. But it’s also hard when the tee times are spread 7 mins apart. Leaves people with not much room. We waited almost 20 mins on a par 3 to finally tee off. Truly truly a poor experience here. Would wish the owners prioritize the golfer over their profit.
Construction on the club house is going on for almost 2 years I heard and only porta potties are available. Very smelly and dirty, needs to finish the construction asap. Hopefully soon…
Slow group
We were asked by the Marshall to let the group we skipped pass us because they were part of some “tournament”. We skipped them because they were extremely slow. The group in front of them were a hole ahead of them and we right behind them. They would take forever to tee up even when no one was on the fairway or green. The Marshall saw all this and did not tell them anything.
Slow Slow Slow
I have been playing at San Dimas occasionally for the last 15 years, and I like the course, and the conditions have always been decent. However, my most recent round there may be my last.
While I expect Friday late morning rounds won't be lightning fast, the pace was horrifying. We started by teeing off 20 minutes on a perfectly sunny day. Hole #1 and #2 generally play slow on this course, a short Par 4, followed by a short Par 3. After the late tee-off, we slowly worked through both holes, arriving at #2 with a group in front of us in the box waiting to hit.
#3 is a Par 5; in experience, this is where groups space themselves out, and the pace becomes normal. That didn't happen this round. We again had to wait as the group in front of us waiting for the group in front of them to clear. This repeated itself on #4, where we caught up to the horror of seeing three groups waiting to hit on the adjacent Par 3, #5. There were 16 golfers, four hitting when we worked past them on #4. We then waited 30+ minutes to hit on #5, realizing we had played just four holes in about 80 minutes after teeing off 20 minutes late.
Pace did pick up slightly, and we completed nine holes in 2:45 minutes, but none of us bothered to continue when we saw three groups waiting at #10. The kicker was when we approached the staff at the temporary clubhouse only to be told this was normal.
San Dimas has a burnt-down clubhouse, portapotties, and 5+ hour "normal" rounds now, and won't ever get my business again.
Slow. Rude patrona
Excellent weather and sunny contrary to forecast. Play was so slow ppl just quit at Hole 7 ish. Took us 4 hours to get to Hole 14 and had to quit.
A couple of Filipino guya just jumped past us at Hole 8. They eventually quit too. Rude.
