The Reserve at Spanos Park

It should always be let known the to players prior to paying when the greens are punched. That fact that we paid full price and had to pay online before hind was extremely frustrating. I called the course 4 times the day before as their computer system was down and not one person mentioned the green were areorated. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth for sure as I paid even more than full price with Golfnow's additional fees.

Nice track, just seems windy everytime I've played it. Other than that it's a nice facility.

Course is in good shape considering the drought in California. Greens were true and moderately fast. Some major work being done on the lake near the 3rd hole, but did not interfere with play. Fairways were fast and we got lots of roll. I spent too much time in the bunkers, but learned that they had sand and were firm.

Course plays fair regardless of handicap as my wife, son, and I can attest. Will definitely play again.

This is my second time playing the Reserve. Challenging layout that is fun to play yet you must remain focused to score well. Not too much water- but enough to make you weary. Pace of play was really nice for starting at 9:30 in the morning- but i also attribute that to the fees. $65 bucks is rather steep for weekend golf- then again it keeps the hackers at bay. Staff was both courteous and friendly and a hot dog and chips at the turn was both welcomed and cheap. I really have enjoyed both times i have played here and I have to say its worth the drive from Sac. I do wish people would respect the game and repair their ballmarks as some of these greens were pummeled pretty hard ( i still rate the greens at a strong 8 even with this peeve) That's not the superintendent - thats the player not respecting the course. I am a 6 handicap - so good greens mean a lot to me- and these greens are both large and fast (some as much as 4 clubs deep. The Reserve is a great new spot to add to my many places to play.

The majority of the staff was extremely friendly, one run in where we were asked to catch the group in front of us as we walked off of a par 4 or 5 (I don't remember which) and the group in front of us was walking off of a par 3. We couldn't have started even if we wanted too. Aside from the staff, I was a little disappointed with the greens for the price. The greens had dead spots throughout although there were parts of the course that were swampy. I will be returning but this was definitely not the best I've seen this course be. A fun course to play regardless.

Overall, course was well maintained, picturesque, challenging, but fun.

the course had a tax day special so it was the most crowded that I've ever seen it. Play as a threesome in back of many groups. To my surprise the pace of play was really good. The course was in great shape and the greens were in pretty good shape. The wind made the course somewhat difficult as it usually does. Overall for how crowded the course was had an excellent time. This is one of my favorite course in the area.

3rd round here in a couple years. U never know what you'll get until you arrive. Course in great shape but maintenance continually disrupted play during the round. Pro shop called us to the tee 25 minutes before our tee time because the 2-some scheduled at the same time wanted to go early. My playing partner had just stepped to the range and forfeited almost an entire bucket of balls. Round took less than 4 hours ( the last time I played it took 5+ hours to get to the 17th tee before darkness fell ) so you never know, plan accordingly. Will I go back? ... maybe.

I've played this course a few times in the past but its been a while until this year. The course was in good condition as it usually has been. The only downside was that we waited on every shot but I think it was just that day. I like playing fast. Luckily, i was among good company & we enjoyed the day despite the pace of play. Since we played at a discounted rate via Golf Now, the overall value was really good.

Nice greens, fairways in excellent conditions, good pace of play. Nice staff. Food was ok. Carts nice and very clean.

The course is maintained very well. Greens are in great shape and fast. Found a tee time for $29, excellent value for the money. One of the better courses in the area.

Great course layout & in good shape. The greens were a little challenging to read, but I think it was because they were a little wet cause it rained the day before. Staff was very friendly and helpful, will definitely play again.

Course was in great shape. Fairways were lush green, greens were healthy had a consistent pace and the tees were even. I didn't run through any standing water. For the time of year, best course in the area.

there are only about ten primo courses in the sacramento / san Joaquin area and this is one of them. Love the mirrored 9 / 18 holes wrapping around the lake. Food, facility, greens, fairways are all in great shape throughout the year. Play in the morning. By noon the delta wind kicks up making the course harder.

The condition of the course was fabulous. Beautiful green fairways and greens. No bare spots anywhere.

did not see marshal on site waited on every hole, on one par three hole there was 4 groups backed up! there is no reason for a 5 1/2 hr round! too expensive to sit & wait!

Excellent conditions. Hidden sand traps come into play. We played on a tiurnamet day and the staff worked hard to get us in the course in a reasonable time. We travel and play a lot of golf courses but i must admit that the 18 hole at sun set is the most beautiful view I have ever seen on a golf course. We look forward to our return.
