Avalon Country Club

First time for my visitor guests and we all thoroughly enjoyed round. We found quite challenging. Excellent friendly staff. Will definitely return. Thanks!

This course was great years ago, I’ve been a few times over the last year and I will not go back after this week. The greens are awful. Especially when they are charging 70 dollars. When I pay that type of money to play golf I expect all of the course to be in good shape. They have no business charging what they do for what they are offering. The greens suck! I would much rather pay halv or a third of the price and play literally anywhere else in the area. Whittle springs or Knox muni greens both roll better and put theses greens to shame. Dead horse or river island are much better instead, all for cheaper.

This was my first time playing at Avalon and I was blown away by the staff, course and and other amenities. I will definitely be back and recommend to all my friends.

The course is in great condition and has a lot of fun and challenging holes. The staff was great and very helpful. Overall I had a great experience golfing here at Avalon.

A beautiful property. Lots of rolling hills and elevation changes make the course fun to play. Wide open fairways, but you often need to hit the optimum side of a hillside to keep the ball where you want it. The grass was dormant, so it did not look great when we played, but I am sure it looks spectacular in later spring, summer, and early fall. Greens are massive with several levels and they roll great, but they are really tough to read the first time you play.

Extremely nice golf course layout of challenging holes for all levels of play. There are a lot of hills and elevation changes to challenge most golfers skill level. In early April 2023 the greens were super fast especially on the rolling green layouts pin position. Although the fairway grass will not “Green up” until May the course was in very good shape. Will continue to schedule tee times monthly.

I booked a tee time at 10:10 through golf now. I then received a call from the clubhouse explaining that the time selected is only for members and I would need to cancel and take it up with Golf Now. However, there can be no cancellation of the tee time if within 24 hours so I could not cancel. I then had to have a tee time for 11:40 and the clubhouse seemed not to care that I had to adjust. On the day of play, the staff attitude is as if people playing their course is an inconvenience and unhappy that their course was so busy. Poor experience overall and not worth the money charged for green fees.
