Avalon Country Club

Surprisingly, the course is in good shape with the lack of rain. There’s a couple greens that still have to come together that have about 10% no growth or disease I’m not sure what it is. I’m not a greenskeeper, but for a course that totally lost its greens and came back with what they’re at, it’s extremely impressive that they’ve recovered to the point of where they’re at.

The professionalism at the course from the pro shop to the grill is nice. They make a nonmember feel like a member as it should be because every non-member is a potential member. After playing this time it’s solidified our choice on joining.

So I was a little skeptical, because I had heard about the issue that they had having to change the greens to zoysia grass, but they are setting nicely. They’re a little bit different to put on and someways slower much slower but fast when going with the grain.

All the courses are a little dry now, but I was surprised at how nice the fairways were with the lack of rain we have had. Terry in the pro shop was awesome. All of the staff at the grill as well.

Complementary waters and ice chest were nice touch to an enjoyable round. The beauty of the course and the diversity of each hole is making this a potential membership for the entire family.

I can honestly say that no two holes slightly resembled each other, and every hole is incredibly unique. Complementary range balls was added bonus. Playing again here in a couple days.

Went out for the first time yesterday. Enjoyed the front 9, back 9 was much more closed in by houses. Greens were nicely manaquered but rolled surprisingly slow, especially compared to the practice green. Really liked the carts having the GPS technology on them. Overall it was a good experience.

Excellent shape course with 4 different tee boxes to challenge players of all skill levels.

Tee to Greens the course is in great shape in late August 2023. Plenty of challenges with the elevation change. Greens would hold approach shots also.

A very hilly course, I am glad I did not walk it. Even though there is a lot of elevation changes, the course is very fair with many landing areas that are mostly flat. The sides are banked so much that it often throws the ball back to the fairway giving a little more forgiveness for pulls or pushed shots. Greens held the approach shots well and greens putted well and were in good shape. Very please that I tried this course while passing through Knoxville on a business trip. Hats off to Golf Now for easily getting a tee time on the day of the visit.

I love this course layout, course condition is excellent. However the three-some in front of me was so slow, and their etiquette was so bad. Other than that everything was so good.

This course has a beautiful layout and challenging holes! Very fun course that will make you use all the clubs in your bag! If you like mountain golf this is your spot! The customer service was outstanding and very welcoming.

Great layout and a really great course. But these greens are an issue. Unfortunate too, I think they spent a ton on new greens in the last two years.

The layout is pretty fun, but a few of the greens are in rough shape. I enjoyed the course, but for the price there are better options in the area.

You feel you have entered a golf country club at this course. Friendly staff, even a person offering to wash your clubs at the end of the round. The carts are computerized, if you like those. The round was a little more pricey, even at the discounted price. But apparently this did not discourage others from playing, since everyone was waiting in front and behind us throughout the round. Overall, well maintained, except a few greens the were pretty rough. Credits to having the most nicely maintained sand traps we have seen in the last couple of years, playing a variety of courses from Kentucky to North Carolina. And they have plenty of them along the fairway and the green. Fortunately, only landed in one on the fairway after a long drive. A seven iron got me close to the green.
