Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Masters
About
The Masters Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club is ideal for golfers who don't feel they are prepared to take on the demanding Legends Course at the club, which has been ranked as one of the toughest courses in North America. The Masters layout is similar to golf courses in Florida, with unique bunkers and scenic ponds that meld perfectly with the rolling hills and wetlands that dot the scenic landscape. Its more traditional layout is considered the kinder and gentler of the two golf courses at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, but there are still a fair amount of challenges. The Masters course requires several long carries over water, particularly on the 16th. This infamous par 5 features a green surrounded by water.

Great course
Play the course for the first time and enjoyed it very much. Fairways are in great shape bikers well-maintained and greens are very challenging. Use the facilities after and was surprised to see the lock hair and maintaining them. Towels everywhere and very messy sink. Of coarse of this caliber and price should be maintained. Enjoy Golf and would play again.
This course has challenging holes, some pretty scenery, and overall fun to play.
Played Labour Day weekend so round was slow >4 1/2 hours. Have played before many years ago. One of the nicer Kaneff courses however on the higher end for pricing.
Really enjoyed my round!
Staff was very quick to rectify the fact that my name was not on the tee-time's golf cart, as I was on the Pro Shop list as a single at the right tee-time. Super friendly staff in the Pro Shop and on the course. Really well maintained golf course! When booking through Golf Now, it's really great value for the money. I would definitely go back to Lionhead!!
Loved the layout, nice time between groups
Great layout, unfortunately the greens were not great. Need a better person at half-way hut, slowed down pace of play considerably as too long a wait for hot dog.
Excellent condition. Challenging but fair.
Excellent condition. Challenging but fair. Staff was very helpful.
great afternoon
Played Saturday course was in good shape found the front nine more difficult and more penal.greens were medium fast with a lot of break a real challenge to putt. Overall a good experience and would play again
Challenging course...lots of bunkers
Enjoyed challenge...lots of bunkers.
Greens and fairways in great shape.
Pace of play could be worked on as almost 5 hours is too long.
Downhill
Lionhead used to be regarded as one of the prime courses in the GTA, and apart from it's reasonably close location to the city, is no longer is worth the green fees one pays, even at the golfnow discounted rates. Staff are quite nice, however the course conditioning is suffering, probably as a result of having to reduce rates to get people to play there. Greens were SO slow, and beat up. Tee boxes were shredded. The Masters' mediocre design and layout leave any golfer wanting more from a course. It doesn't seem to be able to find it's stride, jumping from different style to different style. If you ever see the rates around $50/60, jump on the opportunity, but that's all I'd ever pay again to play here.
The course was in great shape, especially the greens.
For some reason the time we booked through golfnow and the time the course had was different. However, the staff was excellent and moved us up in order to honour our scheduled tee time.
We had a great experience and look forward to returning soon!
Great Golf day
from bag drop, through the pro shop and the restaurant, to the starter to the marshal - this is a great setup for a golf day. Good challenge and great conditions on the course.
Horrible management!
This course is wayyyy over price for what you get, we played a 6 hours round yesterday, complained and no response whatsoever, they had a tournament and they first told us that they had spaced out the t times so that there would be no delay and they had Marshals all over, well, not only there was no marshal on the entire round but when we called the club house to complain about the pace they totally ignored us.
Also for a course that charges so much money they have no attire rules, if they do they dont enforce it, there was a threesome behind us that not only 1 guy had no clubs and was playing, but they were waring gym short and construction shoes, also saw some other guys waring Tshirt
Really disapointing, the course itself its fun to play with a good degree of dificulty but they have to learn how to run it
Good redance
one of the best for sure
This is a very well maintained and challenging golf course, it is without a doubt one of the best courses I've played. I would definitely play this course again.
Great Course, always in great shape..
Always love playing here but I didn't appreciate the 5 hour round.
Great course, undulating greens
The course is in very good shape, fairways are clean and well maintained. The greens are large and undulating making every putt challenging and enjoyable. The staff is super friendly and customer service is equal to none.
Nice track. Too crowded, but good value for money at just under $100 thru golfnow
Nice track. A little too much traffic and one or two silly holes. Had no idea where I was going off half the tees. Would be more playable second time around.
Great course for the discounted rate.
For the amount paid using Golnow - it was worth the money. The pace of play was very slow. But We still enjoyed the track.
great golf course. As good as most private clubs.
Nice combination of holes with excellent scenery. You need to play it more than once to get a true sense of it.
very good, challenging layout
This course offers quite a challenge. Great layout, with left and right doglegs. Many longer holes were tree lined, which offered a greater challenge. I thought the greens could have been better, however the rainy conditions may have had an impact on the greens. One thing I thought lacking was ball washers. They were only a few on the course with no towels. On a wet course it would have been great to have. Overall it's a wonderful course that I will play again.
