Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Masters
About
The Masters Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club is ideal for golfers who don't feel they are prepared to take on the demanding Legends Course at the club, which has been ranked as one of the toughest courses in North America. The Masters layout is similar to golf courses in Florida, with unique bunkers and scenic ponds that meld perfectly with the rolling hills and wetlands that dot the scenic landscape. Its more traditional layout is considered the kinder and gentler of the two golf courses at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, but there are still a fair amount of challenges. The Masters course requires several long carries over water, particularly on the 16th. This infamous par 5 features a green surrounded by water.

overall good condition and great putting and range facilities.
Worth the money from golf now at $85.00
Championship caliber
Very nice course, but for what you pay they should include a GPS system on the cart.
I've always liked this course, it is very challenging. The rough is very heavy, so when you are in there it's tough to get out. The greens are very testy, lots of angles and slopes to worry about. I would play again.
They pack the course and it was backed up all the way. Close to 6 hour round.
They pack the course and it was backed up all the way on every hole. It took us 5 hours and 40 minutes to finish the round.
Well organized
I expected a more scenery type course for the reputation it has. This is my first time there. It is maintained the greens are well kept and so are the fairways. Lots of divits off some tees and some fairways , so caliber of people playing on this course are some what hackers. The club house is very nice and outdoor area is enjoyable for a drink after golf
Very playable course
Nice course in pretty good condition for the amount of play it has. It is in need of a few loads of sand as many of the bunkers are very low on sand. This is my only complaint is the poor conditions of many bunkers. They were in fact working on some on the 7th hole while I was playing so I am sure it will be great moving forward.
Fabulous day of golf
Course was in fantastic condition no hold ups zipped around in 3 1/2hours perfect
Great Golf
The staff were friendly but aloof. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were fast and true.
The carts were less than expected from a course of this calibre, no gps or range finder ability. At a posted $150 a round I would have expected better. The pace of play was excellent.
Challenging course, well designed holes.
This course requires you to pay attention to your major course management - it's not a course you can hit driver on every hole. It's in good shape, and the edged bunkers and second cut were a nice touch. There are lots of elevation changes, and shorter holes are lengthened by elevated and undulating greens.
I found the cart guys were a bit out to lunch, but the pro shop team was nice. It's not worth 150 bucks - especially when having to pay for a bucket of warmup balls, but it's a good play for 60 bucks. We lucked out and happened to be the first ones off after a tournament and didn't see another group all day, making the round much more enjoyable and take 4 hours for some alright golfers.
fair value at $70, but not full price
Strong layout but greens need attention, slow and covered with pitch marks. Managed to repair 3-6 pitch marks on every green and up to 10 on island green #16.
Great challenging course
Even with some rain, this challenging course still had pristine fairways and roughs. The greens were quick to dry and made putting less difficult.
Pace of play - terrible
Lionhead is a great course, and would be amazing, if it wasn't for the terrible pace of play. Been there a few times this year now (always afternoons), and each time the round has been over 5 hours, with this latest round being 5h 20m. Too bad too because the course itself is fantastic.
Great course and ambiance. Pace of play a bit too slow for a high end course: To 5:10Hrs

Good course - will play Legends next time.
First time playing Lionhead Masters. It was a good course - loved the bunker layout. Maintained well.
Great course good condition and great service.
Lionhead Golf & Country Club - The Masters Course was in great condition when I played there. The greens rolled true and fast. Fairways were in great shape and the rough was cut fair. Good pace of play.
Way too slow on Canada Day
I can appreciate waiting a bit during a busy round, but 5+ hrs is just plain sad. We waited on every shot right from #1 tee. Marshal did manage to drive by and comment that we should keep cart on path around greens (parked on side hill 15 yds behind bunker) and drove in waste/rough area around back of green (25 yds from green) to get to next tee - insignificant issues as there would have been no dammage done (grass cutters would be using same areas). we appologized both times. How about dealing with the more pressing problem of the day, providing feedback and an apology to us on why so slow in front of us and what you are doing to make it faster?
Bit on the high end, but you get what you pay for
Pace of play was good, employees were attentive and friendly. Has all the services and amenities that you expect from a great golf course
Disappointing
Took 2 of us almost 3 hours to play nine holes due to no Marshals on the course and a bunch of first time players that wouldn't let us play through.... When we complained about the pace we were treated like second class due to the fact that we booked on Golf Now.... Used to be one of my favourite publics.... Sticking to club link from now on
Very Tough, Especially If it's Your First Time
This is a very challenging but also very scenic course with lots of terrain changes. Course was in great condition.
First timers beware; it's often hard to figure out the hole layout even though on some holes a precise layup is crucial. A GPS device (not provided) and a 'scout' of each hole is almost essential. There are too many 'gotchas' for the unfamiliar. There are very few bail out areas, so a poor shot gets really penalized. The course requires consistent accuracy, shot after shot.
Pace was slow; almost five hours. But that's not surprising given the difficulty. Our round was made worse by the fact that many tees and pin placements were back adding over 200 yards to the course.
How good are you really? This course will help you find out!
Would I play it again? Absolutely, but I'll expect a bruised ego.
Great features. Price was good.
Price was good. We only play this Course when there is a special as it is very expensive.
Great facility
Conditions were great. Greens are huge, fast and undulating.
The lack of friendliness by the staff was disappointing and this included everyone from the bag drop guys, to pro shop and the starter. The only person that made us feel welcome was the woman in the Shack at the turn.
Also, can't understand why a course that charges this much doesn't have GPS on the carts????
It was a treat to play both courses on the same day but the replay cost was disappointing as well.
