Top Notch Course
One of the top courses I've ever played. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Course was in pristine conditions and the greens are lightning fast. My only complaint about is that they were doing maintenance on close to half the holes. We teed off at 7:50am and almost every hole on the back 9 (around 10am and after ) had maintenance people going across the fairway or around the bunkers. We had to wait for them to get out of the way so we could shoot. This is absolutely unacceptable to be doing maintenance on this many holes at this time of day.
Great shape
Would love to play this course more often, but way to much $$$$ better options out there.
Can play Niagara Parks “Legend’s on the Niagara” for almost ½ this price and just as good a course.
There for when I have gest in from out of town we pass this one by for more reasonably priced courses
Just played both courses this week and Grand Niagara is in better shape than battlefield. its roughly 25$ more and well worth it. And yes, battlefield was also in great shape. 25$ extra shouldnt break anyones bank!
Conditions and layout second to none
Having played all over Canada, I can easily say this is one of the best conditioned courses tee-to-green I have ever played. Intimidating off the tee, risk-reward long holes, great variety in par three's. Can't say enough about the staff, truly professional and friendly. Lots of great deals on many sites, but this course is worth playing at any price.
Mr.
This golf course is great and it is not cheap at all. The staff are very friendly . I was paired with three other golfers from Oakville Ontario very friendly gentlemen. We really enjoyed our play, are they are great golfers. Despite the very poor weather, extremely windy and we were fortunate there was no rain when we were playing despite the 80% call for rain. It was brutally windy though. Tough course but will play it again. A great golf course to play
great conditions and great service
Grand Niagara was in great shape when I played it. The greens were excellent and fast, putts rolled true and there is some variety and challenge in the holes.
Food was excellent and so was service!
It is the best conditioned public course on the Niagara peninsula and has a very solid practice facility.
a round at grand niagara
It was the long weekend ( july 1, sunday). Unbelievably dead parking lot had maybe 12 cars in it. This is always a question i have because this course deserves far more respect and more business it deserves. Rees Jones designed a course in Destin Florida and i can't to them apart. The Grand Niagara condition of this course is immaculate, can't find any winter damage, green everywhere and ready for any tournament play.
The only knock i have is like most reviews , it could use a nicer design and more functional club house.I would recommend playing on one of the world's top ranked course designers this course to anyone looking for a fantastic experience of a golf at any level
Awesome!!!
Played here for the first time this year and the course was in perfect condition. Compared to a lot of other courses that suffered winter damage, this course seemed unaffected. The greens were unbelievable. Would totally recommend playing here. The little things like bottled water close the gap between playing a private course compared to a public course.
Best in Class - Niagara Region
...aside from the modest clubhouse, this layout and terrain make Grand Niagara Golf Club a must-play when visiting Niagara Falls. What an amazing venue with immaculate conditions. Greens are absolutely perfect and true. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!
Amazing course
This is one of the best courses I have ever played. The conditions were perfect and I loved the course layout. I couldn't find one thing negative to say about the course.
Now that discounted tee times can be booked through golfnow.com Grand Niagara is without a doubt the best value for your money within a short drive of the GTA.
Tough layout from the gold, should have played silver.
Very challenging layout. Club house and grill not up to the quality of the course - made it feel a little pricey compared to other courses we played.
Excellent golfing experience.
Had heard many positive things. Wanted to play and judge for myself. This course did not disappoint. It exceeded the expectations that I held. The employees were welcoming and professional. The pro shop was well equipped. The cart and range balls were included, which is a nice touch. The course layout and condition are topnotch! The care put into the maintenance of the course is impressive, especially given our recent harsh winter. The layout is as advertised, challenging. This is the best course I have played in the Niagara region. I look forward to my next visit.
A great golf experience
Terrific course design. Wide fairways with challenging greens which are sand trapped or water edged, or both. No houses, no buildings--just nature in all its intended beauty.
Fairways and greens are in exceptional shape, despite a very long and difficult winter. Hats off to their elite maintenance crew!
Excellent course - a must play
This is an excellent course, very playable for all levels of players. The condition of the course is fabulous from tee to green, fairways are especially nice to hit off and quite wide, but were also a little wet. Greens are large with some breaks, but very playable. Sand traps are numerous and very well cared for - seems the traps green side are fluffy white sand and the fairway traps a more clayish sand. There is water in play on several holes as well. This course is in mid-season condition - with no signs (brown patches) of the harsh winter. A must replay !!
In excellent condition after a hard winter
I was impressed with the condition of the course to a very hard winter. The greens were consistent, the fairways lush, and most of the bunkers were also predictable. Unfortunately, some of the bunkers still contain "sandbox sand"which is sticky compared to the excellent white sand in the others. Overall, the course was a real pleasure to play and I think reinforces Grand Niagara's reputation as the best course in the Niagara Peninsula.
great golf
The best course in Niagara but a little to pricey maybe golfnow could help reduce the green fees
Worth the drive
Great course still in pretty good condition even on the 28th of October, pretty wet fairways though, not many leaves on the course.
Great design, great staff
I'll be back next year in summer time
Best Golf Course in Niagara
The heading of the review sums it up. I do not believe that people realize how good this course is in terms of design and condition. We should really take advantage of the opportunity to play a Rees Jones course in our backyard. This course is very capable of hosting a PGA tournament but due to the money woes they have never made the clubhouse to suit the course. The only thing that I don't understand is if the course is not busy and has had money trouble in the past would you not try to market it in a different way? $70-$90 green fees in Niagara is way out of wack....the economy will not support that. I realize the probable clientele is the Toronto market but that will go only so far. Then the line will be green fees vs number of players vs course condition. Overall, if you haven't played here it's a must. Enjoy it.
I have to wonder if a designer ever regrets making a course to attach his name to? When he built this course it was supposed to be a highlight of a complex with a Greg Norman course, condos etc. that fell through.....but hey - it's good for us to have such quality nearby.
Expect the hardest, most difficult, fast greens in the area that has subtle breaks that are hard to see.....my suggestion is to look at the break from both sides of the hole....it may change your outlook.
I found the course was in fantastic shape, from the T's to the greens.
I would recommend this course to anyone. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. I can see why they say that this is the best course in the Niagara Region.
Totally Awesome
This course is Totally Awesome!!! It reminds me of the brilliantly designed and maticulously maintained courses of Myrtle Beach.
Every aspect of this course from tees, fairways, bunkers and greens are in pristine condition. The staff are friendly and courteous and every hole is both challenging and fun to play! The clubhouse is small but luxurious and the pricetag of this golfing experience is more than worth it!
Course is laid out very well
Course is challenging and blends in with the land features very well. The sand traps were flooded out because of all of the over night rain.Doesn,t look like the course drains very well.Over all a very nice experience.Af
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
we just played yesterday and its the best course ive played on. But like you, we encountered workers and machines on 9 of the 18 holes including the 4 last ones. My playing partner hit a worker with his second shot on par 5 number 18. However, how can one except such a beautiful course without maintenance?
