Cardinal Lakes Golf Club - Sparrow Course
About
Cardinal Lakes Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, a championship and an executive. The Sparrow Course is the original executive layout and while it may only be 4,909 yards, it offers the same challenges as its championship sister course. The generous fairways, many of which are doglegs, are flanked with rough areas and there are numerous ponds and lakes that come into play. Surrounded by trees and bunkers, the small greens demand accuracy. It may be a short layout, but this formidable golf course requires careful course management, proper club selection, and solid short game skills. While it may often be overlooked because of its length, the Sparrow is Niagara's most formidable short track

Perfect size
Modern golf courses are becoming harder and longer and take more time to play. Cardinal Sparrow Lakes is short and simple enough to be enjoyed regardless of age or handicap. Perfect size for me.
This is the perfect course to work on your game. Driver not required. Mature trees, well kept greens and fairways. Long irons and short irons get a good workout. When they are working well, then go across the street and sort out the big dog.
Good Course, Friendly Staff
My wife and I play here often. The price is great and it's 12 minutes away from home.
Awful experience
I booked a tee time that includes a cart, I drove there for 45 minutes and they tell me that they don't allow carts after 6. I asked why do they permit golfnow to offer tee times with a cart if they have that policy. I asked how much was to play walking and it was 8 dollars less and without a single intention to make me feel better after this agravation. Then when I asked for a solution, the person of the counter tells me "they're another courses down the road". Basically I drove almost 2 hours to just have an horrible experience and without being able to play my weekly round. The course looked nice but please do something to improve customer service and don't forget that if something is offered, as a business you have to deliver.
fast greens
Enjoyed playing because of the smooth fast greens. Tough conditions because of the wind but made me think more about club selection which made the round more challenging. Price is right, i'm going back.
Great couples course
Always enjoy Sparrow. Great walking course for couples. Good condition and very enjoyable.
This course is great no waiting very few people golfing so can do a round in no time at all. Green are very fast but in good shape. Not to much long ruff so easy to get out of.
Have reasonable expectations
Ever since Sparrow Lakes has been purchased by Cardinal Golf Group, the volume of players has dropped dramatically = relaxing rounds of golf.
I chose to play the shorter 18 holes, knowing that it's less than 5000 yds from the tips and par is 67. I wanted to focus on my accuracy, short game and putting, and the Sparrow allows you to do that...without being pushed or held up by the groups surrounding you.
Is it worth the drive? No. I live :03 mins away and don't mind playing here, because the course is well kept (albeit I was never in a bunker), but fairways are nicely cut, greens are okay. The only negative is the dire need of some dogs that are permitted to roam freely and rid the course of the LARGE numbers of dirty Canadian Geese on tje property.
I'll be back again, with the right frame of mind. This is not a par 72, 6500 yard challenge, but you can certainly have a good time here.
Green Conditions
This is a great course, but the greens recently have been in somewhat pockmarked condition. Otherwise a good place. Would like to see more ball washers at the tees.
Please take suprise
Great little course. May be shorter than others, but not easy. Was also in the best shape of the ones in this area that we have played. Well worth the investment
A little gem
Great course! will definitely play it again. For those who like to walk the sparrow was just enough. Looking forward to playing it again.
Fun little Course
It's a fun little course to play that is usually in good shape. The greens are receptive to approach shots and the pace of play is very good. Because the tee's are close to the green's and the length of the course you should get around in give or take 3 hours. The staff are great to deal with from the starters to the pro shop. If you can get a good deal to play the course take advantage and go out. I would say the going rate is expensive at $35 weekdays and $40 weekends walking. Which is probably why the course is very quite.....Much better value in the region.
Pleasant longer Executive Course
For Seniors who like to walk, this is a very pleasant longer Executive Course that is not boring.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
the ball washer comment is completely valid. There are posts for them, but they've obviously been removed.
