SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club
About
Located in the North Tucson area, SaddleBrook Ranch Golf Club borders the Santa Catalina Mountains. The course meanders through the high Sonoran desert, incorporating natural washes into the design and providing stunning mountain views from almost every hole. Abundant desert flora and fauna further enhance the rugged, gently rolling terrain. The golf course offers a mix of challenging holes and player-friendly features, resulting in a layout with several interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low and high handicappers equally. The player-friendly fairways are generous, allowing beginners to feel comfortable with ample room off the tees and rewarding thoughtful play. There are also carefully placed mounds, hollows, and bunkers along the large, receptive greens that provide opportunities to recover an errant shot. The golf course is made even more versatile with five different sets of tees.

Good course
Great layout. Greens and fairways grass was great painted in lots of area.
Putting green was in bad shape and nowhere near as fast as the real greens were.
Will play it again!!
Robson Course
1st time playing here
Nice greens but 0h so fast
Robson courses are always in great shape
Frost Delay
Had a frost delay for an hour this morning. The staff tried to reach everyone to let them know.Did make up some time. Saw lots of entries about two holes being Par 3 instead of par 5. They are all back to par 5s. Like many courses right now some fairways are painted. Think the staff in the club house have many rules they have to follow. So not their fault if you disagree with them. Great day of golf!
staff below average
Had a 12:15 tee time so we could get done before dark and were told there was a 45 minute delay then got behind some people giving lessons to one in the group and play was terribly slow. Ranger warned them on no,7 and they did for 2 holes and slowed down further, No ranger so I called the clubhouse from 13 tee and was told it was closed, Gave us a direct line to the ranger and got voice mail message saying leave a message and then another saying mailbox full.. Finally skipped past them and finished just before dark. Also no snacks or soft drinks available. Won't return.
Great place to golf
Great course - challenging but fun. Provocative traps. Hole 10 - not fun (I’m not gonna lie). Hit for a lay-up, hit for a lay-up, gotta make it over - and not enough visual to be sure you made it over. That hole cost me. Unfortunately, we thought we had signed up as a 3-some but only had 2 signed up (the invite a friend didn’t work for us). However, the local staff accommodated us so we could play together. Great job guys! Will play again!
overall good experience
Fairways & greens in very good condition, not a fan of the dormant grasses off the fairways & around the greens
The course staff and head pro at real jerks. I have lived here for 6 years and never witnessed such bad behavior. Most of the people that work here are retired and act like they own the place. My issues are so concerning that I have hired an attorney to resolve them. Most residents that play golf here truly dislike the golf pro in charge. Today was the worst experience I have ever had on a golf course. The practice putting green is trashed, and the chipping practice area has only two pins. Good Grief.
1/5/20...perfect day!
Chilly start, but warmed up nicely. Course was in EXCELLENT condition and pace of play was under 3 hours 45 minutes! Greens are running smooth and fast. Lunch was excellent at the Ranch House on property...with a beer crafted on site. Great day!
Forgot to overseed this year.
Save your money this winter. They only reseeded 6 holes and painted the rest. Doesn't make any sense.
Cold, Windy & wet!!!
The outdoor temperature was in the low 40's with a real feel in the upper 30's. Our round was completed in just over 4 hours which wasn't to bad for being cart path only. Not many people playing because of the cold temperatures. I've played many times at this course and will definitely be back very soon.
Beverage cart
Awesome course !! Some fairways a lil dry but greens were nice .......why the no beverage cart...and foursome in front were messing around to much...
Great day at SBR
Great day of golf. Course in great shape! Challenging course for all skill levels!
Ranch Review
Have played all of the Saddlebrooke courses. Ranch continues to improve their conditions and is a nice diversion. from the nearby Saddlebrooke
courses.
What's up with this guy?
The counter people are terrific and very hospitable, and efficient on checking people in. The starters are always fun nice guys, and the course marshals are very nice too.
Yes, the practice green is in bad shape but I have heard that they made 2-3 previous attempts to over-seed it and it didn't take hold. Right now, it is too frosty and cold to attempt a quick comeback. Practice greens, meh, who cares too much when the course greens are in such great shape.
I've played here numerous times (maybe 10-15 rounds each year for 7 years), and the course is in fine condition with the prices being super reasonable for Tucson winter golf.
This reviewer obviously seems to have a long standing disagreement with the head pro. In my case, I've never met him or need to meet him when the rest of the staff is warm and friendly and the course is in good condition.
I would respectively ignore his post, and read all the other ones as being more reliable.
