Heritage Golf Links - Tradition Nine

I was ready to give this course a 5 star rating after playing the front 9. The staff was super friendly. We played as a twosome on a weekday. A foursome let us play through on the 2nd hole and we played the Heritage 9 in an hour and a half. Sure the green complexes with the bunkers and severely undulating greens were tricky. But it was kind of fun.

Then we went over to the Tradition 9. First off, you have to drive back down the Heritage first hole to get there. We get there and there is a group teeing off on the first hole. Turns out they were starting people on that 9 too. Took 2 1/2 hours to play that 9.

But the kicker is, after playing the Tradition, you have to drive back up the Heritage 1st hole, right into the teeth of people teeing off at you, to get back to the clubhouse. That’s just not right.

So the course overall rating and layout get docked for starting groups on both sides and not having a better way to get to the Tradition 9.

Course was in pretty great condition, just a few tee boxes that could use some touch up. Pace of play was extremely slow as it ended up being over a 5 hour round. It would have been nice to have a marshal driving around to enforce pace of play, as there were some VERY slow groups in front of us that led to a gap of 2-3 holes being empty in front of them. It was a really enjoyable round though other than all of the waiting.

Greens looked better coming out of winter but are still so slow probably rolling an 8. Unfortunately they are never going to be faster with the grass type and the Harvey traffic.

Around the greens and tee boxes are still pretty rough.

Intend on a 5 hours plus round.. Legacy is in good condition but heritage is in a bad state. Tees and fairways are horrible abs the greens are choppy.

First time here. Played twilight. Checkin was little hectic. Not sure why? They have 3 courses. Need better and proficient front desk help. But this a bout the course. Course was cool. Tee box and some of the greens were not as cool. Fun layout. Pretty difficult for high handicappers. But, I had fun playing 10 holes. Legacy and heritage course.
