Longest round ever
Loved the layout. That’s about the only positive I can say. The worst thing was the 6.5 hour round. The greens were slow and were like putting through a mine field with all the pitch marks that we’re not repaired. The bunkers were packed, hard and very rocky. There’s a lot of potential here but could stand some TLC and better management on pace of play. I wouldn’t play again on a weekend. Weekdays may be better.
Great course
Love the links layout , challenging with all the slopses
Well maintained fairways and greens
Slow as Molasses
There aren't a lot of public courses near the city, and of the few, this one reigns supreme. Unfortunately, everybody and there grandma (not joking) knows this. It's one heckuva course. I would play here all the time if it weren't for the 5.5 hour rounds. If you can get out here during the week - do it. Weekends? You are better off driving up north to Canton or Woodstock - you will be home sooner. 2 of the 9's are clearly superior to the third one across the street. I just wish they would utilize the 3rd 9 for the slower players more effectively. Also, clean up your ball marks and rake the dang traps.
Great track
Me and a buddy played on a weekday after work. Played tradition then the front 9. It’s definitely tough. A lot of narrow tee shots. Greens are great and roll true. Only issue was a lot of ball marks, wasn’t a big deal though. Fairways in good shape. Definitely recommend this course and going back.
Out of town
Phenomenal layout and challenging from tips. Great views in late afternoon and long shadows from tall pines. Greens were slower than my expectations but overall amazing course! Pace was great for how busy as well. Staff supper friendly as well!
Pace of play is atrocious.
Now what we have here is a cool course, a great staff, and some great amenities. But good god almighty holy Moses me, it took me and my “squad” 4 and a half hours to get through 14 holes, then it got dark so we had to leave. Plus we had a nice plant-based meal awaiting us back at the “crib.” Listen and listen good. Cool course, terrible pace. It’s an absolute nightmare out there. Bring a book, a lawn chair, and some sunscreen. Great time to catch some “rays.”
Course in good shape
Would give overall rating & course conditions a 4.5 if that was an option. Got a good deal on a golf booking website, would not pay regular rate. Played Legacy & Tradition 9’s. Overall course in good to great shape. Not sure if there’s a flat green on the course. Didn’t play out of traps, not raked. Hot day needing water cooler on course. Friendly staff
The Hills!!
First one off the tee at 630 am so Im really not sure about pace of play but everything else was top notch. I played Heritage and Tradition and hills all throughout both are hard to deal with!! Super challenging but so much fun and it will make you think twice about what shot you want to hit.
Fine Course- Heavily Played
This course is fine. The design is okay, with some very tight holes and others with extreme green contours. This course gets a lot of play and despite Golf Now showing a wide open tee sheet for late afternoon , I ran into groups on my 2nd hole and it just got slower from there even after pairing up with another group.
Extremely Challenging
Most of the challenge of this course is on the greens. As long as you stay close to the fairways and out of the woods, you'll be OK until you hit your approach shot to the greens. The greens are very large and have large undulations. If you are not in the proper quadrant, be happy with a 3-putt. The greens right now are beautiful, but thick and slow. The challenge is to hit the right quadrant to avoid 3-putting. Overall, it's a great challenge.
