#5 approach shot. Cool shot with the mountain in the background. Photo submitted by ryantjeerdsma on 09/24/2013
Not a representative experience
The course is always fun. Unfortunately, the crews were prepping for over seed.
good layout. some mts. & a lot of desert.
paired with a father & son.first time for the son and i to play this course. played in less than 3and 1/2 hrs. Course was in good condition for mid summer.
Great course
The greens were a little slow but overall were in great condition. They were a little tough to read. It was evident that time was taken to look after the bunkers which is forgotten a lot on course in Arizona. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great course fast pace!
Played early morning in a threesome in 3 hours. Course is in good condition. Greens are receptive and about a 10 on the stimp. Fairways were firm with lots of roll. Fun course that doesn't beat you up. Take some bug spray if you play early!
Good choice
I and my golf partner made a great choice when we chose to play MMR. Great staff, good course all in all a great day
Cheers Stan
Great time at McDowell Mtn.
Always a fun course to play. Kicks your but if your not hitting it straight, love the layout.
Fun course
Very nice course and worth playing again. We saw no cart staff serving around the course. Greens are in good shape though somewhat undulating. The scorecard provides for multiple tee box options with crossover tee use.
Course was in great condition.
Really enjoyed the course. Fairways were tight but playable. The greens were fast but rolled well. The staff at the facility wasn't very friendly. The only person to smile and greet us was the cart girl on the course.
Hot and fair conditions as best
Not scenic. I'm a ravine do very hot with little air movement. Tee to green ok but greens at best 40% grown in.
Not worth the visit.
Beautiful
Loved the beautiful landscape views. Very pretty course. Course was in great shape. Loved it.
Scenic, challenging, fun
Cool place, good facilities, fun track! Definitely check it out if you want to play away from the city.
Great value!
Course was in great shape for the end of summer and at a great price!
First Impressions
I liked the course.
The staff was friendly and efficient.
The course had a good layout and was in good to very good condition.
I will play the course again and would recommend it to anyone.
The driving range and the putting green was also in very good condition.
Lastly the cost was very reasonable.
Fun course to play
The course has been re-designed and is very playable and fun
Overall ok experience
The course is playing firm and shorter. The downside of that is the contours will funnel the ball into the desert. Be careful off the tee on nos 1 and 10. The course was in good shape. The staff didn't seem very happy or proud of the course though. Overall ok experience but not memorable.
The greens are very challenging
I played the course in less than 4 hours. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
McDowell mountain
Greeted by the cart and club staff right when we got out of the car. Went out at noon on a Friday, no one around, for the summer the course is in good shape,,you could just barely tell the greens had been punched a couple weeks back, still a little sand in them but they still rolled pretty fast, fairways a little hard in spots but that's tone expected for summer in AZ. I played from the whites and the course was still pretty challeninging. Pretty hilly and you have to hit some blind shots. After the round we stopped into the clubhouse grill and had some drinks and great conversations with the staff, had a great time and we will be back.
McDowell Mountain
A great value. Staff is very friendly and course is in great shape especially for the middle of summer in AZ! Only nit is that there isn't much grass to keep balls from rolling off of fairways and into the desert. But the fairways are fairly large so only really bad duffers are hurt by that nit!
High-End Course
I knew about this course from mountain biking nearby and I could tell it was a fairly spectacular course. Having finally had the opportunity to play the course, I was not disappointed. The course is kept in phenomenal condition. On the day I played, however, the greens had been punched and were a bit challenging to play. Nevertheless, that is just a reality in holding the greens through the summer heat we have here. All of the holes have interesting layouts and challenges. The only small drawback is that the course is in the area of high-power lines and the service roads to access them. But this is a small issue with an otherwise great golf course.
very nice
good condition course considering the heat this time of year, nice rolling greens and sweet price on golfnow,
