Lakes at Firewheel Golf Park
About
The Lakes Course at Firewheel is a links-style course that is loaded with water, and was a Dick Phelps creation on his return to Garland in 1987. Hole 7 is the most difficult–a long 549-yard par 5 that requires an approach over a pond.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 north and exit Arapaho. Turn right and when you come to N. Garland Ave., turn left. Drive to W. Blackburn Rd. and turn west. The course is just down the road.

Solid holiday golfing
Course was in very good shape and barely running behind on the holiday weekend.
Decent local option
Course overall is in great shape right now. Had a a 4:35pm tee time with 10 minute intervals. Course was backed up pretty bad from the beginning, there wasn’t a starter or a marshal in sight. Ended up waiting behind 2 groups on pretty much every tee box and the round took roughly 4:15. I’ll still frequent this course but will be more mindful of the time chosen.
Green is in very good condition.
The green condition is much better than other golf courses.
Great Value And Awesome Staff
This course was in remarkable shape given the crazy weather conditions the last few years. A few greens need work around the fringe, but thats easily solved by a player improving their iron and wedge accuracy, lol!
The staff was awesome (as always) and the clubhouse is open after the refurbishment. They make a great breakfast sandwich as well!
Bang for your buck
Course was in great shape for the price. Has been tough with flooding in areas, but fairways and greens are in great shape. Tee boxes varied, but decent overall. Greens rolled very well.
Need Refund
There were only 3 of us and they added a 4th to our group. Course said we needed to call Golf Now for refund
Other than the fringes needing a tiny bit of work, excellent course. Went to enjoy a round by myself and had a blast. challenging course for sure.
Wet..cart path
Despite a week of rain, the course drained pretty well and the greens were in pretty good shape. Very speedy round for walking.
Great venue in Dallas area with flowing layout, challenging spots for a enjoyable golf round.
Great venue in Dallas area at a good price.
This well kept course offers a flowing layout.
It presents a couple of long Par 4 and 5 challenging spots that are complemented with water surrounded Par 3s for a enjoyable golf round..
Muddy but worth the value
Fairway's conditions are not bad but need more management for the grasses.
It's cost-effect~
Good Sunday Round
I have played here a lot and as usual it was a fun time. Only complaint is that the tee boxes were really dry making it difficult to get a tee in the ground on some holes. Other than that it was a good day.
bro...its a public course. you don't control the tee sheets. you play who get paird with.
