Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course
About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

First time at this course
Decided to make the hour drive to Glen Rose and it was well worth the trip! We played the Links course at the suggestion of my friend that played there before. The course layout was good and with the 15 to 20 mph wind that day it was very challenging as designed. Practice facility was ample and pace of play was perfect, I was most impressed with the staff. Very friendly folks, for me that’s “big” as a result will definitely play Squaw Valley any chance I get. D.B.
Well kept
The course is in good condition for this time of year. Greens were fast but over all hand an amazing day
Beautiful Course
We really enjoyed this course, and will be back soon to play the other course. Greens were in great shape, course is interesting, beautiful and very enjoyable
The course was in good condition. The marshall was courteous and helpful. A good overall experience.
Fantastic Value
1st time playing here. I played both courses on the same day, the Links being my first round. Course is wide open with plenty of room to miss. Great condition. 3 reachable par 5s and a drivable par 4. Outstanding value being only 45 min from FW.
Continues to be my Favorite course!
Played 36 holes. First 18 done in 3:45. Second 18 done in 4 hours. Fairways like carpet, greens rolling at good pace and holding good shots. For the money, and the scenery, its worth the drive. Good burgers and cold beer.
Love this place
Best place to come and play 2 rounds at a beautiful facility! Carts are great, food is excellant!
Love this course
Overall great experience here, the greens were very good and the fairways were a little sparse in areas, looks like they were chemical burned. We play there any chance we can.
Awesome
Really enjoyed entire experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Dejavu
Course always in great shape. New carts are nice as well. If you want to play a fun track, make the trip to Squaw Valley. You’ll be glad you did!
Worth the drive
Played the links. Very fun layout with a lot of undulation to reward accurate shots and punish those off line. Large slopey greens left me with some wild putts, but I can’t wait to get back and play it again and see if I can hit the correct section of the green more often.
