Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course
About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Challenging Fun
First time playing this course and played from the tips and shot a 79 on a 74.1 rating. Can be challenging to the eye on some shots but very straightforward layout. Fairways, Tee boxes, and everything was great! The greens were a little rough but not too bad after recovering from aeration, ball rolled well just got kicked off line maybe 2-3 times from bumps. All in all great course and will highly recommend playing this course! Will definitely return!
Great course
Fairways were a little hard with very little forgiveness. But overall a nice course.
Great course!
Always wanted to come out to Squaw Valley and it did not disappoint! For the money this was one of the best courses I’ve played in a while! Will definitely be back!
Awesome Course
This was the second time we have played this course. Played the course about a month ago and decided to take the two hour trip to play it again. Apache Links is such a fun and unique course with a links style on the front 9 and a more traditional layout on the back 9. It is a very playable course which makes it even more enjoyable. Both times we played, we received excellent service from the staff. We will definitely make the trip to play both Comanche Lakes and Apache Links in the future.
Awesome Course
I had been wanting to play for a while and finally took a day off and decided to try it out. I have played a lot of the courses in DFW and this was the best one so far. Awesome fairways and greens and challenging. Also very friendly staff.
Great course
I try to play this course a couple of times a year, as it’s an hour drive from Mansfield, probably the best course layout and conditions of any course I have played this year!!
Great course
Fairways are wide and offers a lot of forgiveness. Great course and will definitely be going back there to play!
Beautiful Course
The Apache Links was in pristine condition. Greens were true and fairways were perfect.
Fantastic Conditions
Links course is in fantastic shape. Fairways & Tee Boxes are super green and plush. Greens were great as well...Pretty quick but rolled true. Sand traps need some TLC and we played the back nine behind a five-some but made the best of it. Highly recommended!
