The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Hidden gem!!!
Great place to play. Check out the new snack bar. Awesome staff.
No water
Course is great. Staff is great. That said, this is the only place I have ever played that had no water on the course to drink. They did not have a cart person selling drinks. Just be warned if you start play with out anything to drink you will not find anything on the course.

Glen Rose Golf
I play the Lakes and Links Course a couple of times a month....Management is always helpful and friendly, very personable. Seems as though they’re always working to improve things....

Fun course that is well maintained. Staff is nice and accommodating. Definitely worth the money.
Good day for golf
Friendly staff and excellent conditions make this one of the best public courses in Central Texas. Two 18 hole layouts are fair but challenge all levels. Well worth the money and time.
Relaxing
I love the traditional style, extremely friendly staff, including starter, and Marshall’s. Pace of play was 3:45 that day with an inexperienced golfer.
Course conditions
Course was in great shape for all the rain we have got the last couple of week. Great staff and great course.
Favorite place in the area
Definitely my favorite place to play in the area. It’s a little far out there but 10/10 worth the drive
