Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course
About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Great Place to Play 36
This is one of our favorite courses in the DFW area. Course is always in great shape, and both courses are very different, creating different challenges and looks. (one is a links style, one is traditional) They have a good practice facility (chipping, range and putting greens), pace of play is always great, as is the staff...everyone can enjoy this course...
Great Course!
I've passed this course a hundreds times befire today. I regret not stopping at it before. It a true hidden escape. Played the Links course with my kid. The fairway were in Good condition and the greens were fast. The staff were great!
Outstanding course
Course is in excellent condition. Fairways are perfect and greens roll true and fast.
In excellent shape
Was nice having bottled water at first tee and 10 tees the fairways were I. Great shape and the greens were too I played the Lakes course today but could see the other one and it looked in great condition Staff is always friendly
excellent staff and fun course
My wife and I had a great time playing this enjoyable course. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful, people on course were nice as well. First time we have played here, but we will definitely be back soon.
Great Course
The course was in great shape, greens were soft but very fast.
Big greens, wide fairways, friendly staff, free bottled water on a hot day. Worth the drive.
Worth the drive
My new favorite course. It’s an hour from my house but it’s worth the drive. Loved both courses greens and fairways were perfect. Friendly staff and free bottled water on the course I can’t ask for much more
True golf course
This is truly phenomenal Course. It has beautiful greens lush fairways, a challenging lay out, this truly is a beautiful course thank you
Simply the Best.
Some of the best golf in Texas. 2 great courses to pick from. Conditions are in top shape.
Make the trip to Glen Rose - it’s well worth it.
Championship Caliber Links Course
Absolute delight to play this on a cooler than expected Sunday in July. From tee to green this is an immaculate golf course with everything you could ask for out of a public gem like this . Will test every part of your game while also balancing out with great views and setting . Will definitely be back only reason I didn’t give 5 stars on course rating was due to a the greens still being a little wavy from the punch ( normal for this time of year) other than that it couldn’t have been an better day of Golf!
Links Course
My wife and I found the Links course to be very challenging, but fun to play. Great fairways and greens.
Outstanding Course
The course was in great conditions. Greens still showed signs of the green maintenance a few weeks ago, but still were very playable. Fairways were alittle thin but nothing that affected play. I wish more courses would select holes each week and keep carts off the fairways so they could get thick. I don't think golfer would complain if they really care about course conditions.
Love this course
Love this course it is always in great shape and well taken care of.The staff is friendliest around and so are the marshalls.Greens are always in great condition and fairways are the best around .Hard to find a bare spot anywhere on the course even in the rough.Well worth an hour drive to Glen Rose to play here.
Beautiful course
Loved the course. It was very beautiful there and challenging. I just wish it were a little closer to my home. I will definitely take the time to go play there again.
Sanded Greens
Discount because greens were sanded. Fun coarse anyway.
