Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course
About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Squaw Valley Photo submitted by SirPuraVida on 12/13/2016
Great Day
Squaw Valley, located in Glenn Rose, TX. Was in good condition and the greens rolled well and fair.
The staff, led by course Pro, Duff Cunningham was friendly and helpful. It was very busy so the pace of play was a little slow.
I look forward to returning.
Great links course with a creek running through it.
It is a great test of your game, large greens great speed .
I love the fairways greens and tee boxes. It is the end of December and the fairways were soft and the greens receptive and smooth. Always worth the drive to play here.
rude poor customer service
Thought I purchased 2player hot time @8:40 am
found out I only purchased 1player. Went back inside to purchase another time for a single so me and my son could play. The one thing I want you to know is the wind chill temp was probably 36 degrees with the wind blowing 24 mph with gusts up to 36mph, with maybe 3 golfers on the whole course. the employee in the golf shop I felt was harassing me telling me were not allowed to do this. Really what's the big deal we drove an hour to play golf. Really!!!!!
nice course, top notch staff
Played here on my bday, as all other courses close to me were closed due to the rain. They were kind enough to let us play after our 45m driver from FW. I had called before we left to verify they were open, and they said they were, but we were the only people on the courser all day. Links course was a little soggy, but after 18 holes there was maybe 4 times where i had to move my ball out of a watery spot on the fairway. Course drained nicely as round progressed and the greens are great.
Pro shop dude was friendly and as i said, allowed us to play when they easily could have closed the course due to lack of any ttimes being booked.
Always Enjoyable
This has turned into a favorite in the DFW area. Well worth the $ and great layout. I do enjoy the Links better, but both very nice.
Not so GolfNow friendly.
CHECK IN STAFF was anything but friendly to help get us out early because our reservation was made through GolfNow. And, yes there were openings to get me out which would have helped their pace of play.
unprofessional attitude.
Great
Always a very awesome course. Both courses are always a good time. Would play this course any day of the week.
Excellent Experience
The course was in great condition, They were very helpful and friendly. We were a 3 some and followed a group of 4 players and did not experience any delay in the course of play.
I will definitely go back and play again.
What a hidden gem!!
Was very hesitant to make the 45 min drive to play this course from Burleson. Wow, what a layout!! Very fair but challenging track. The greens were the best I've rolled all year. This is one of the best public values in DFW. Friendly staff, pace of play was great, and the course was absolutely beautiful!! Definetly one of my new favorites, I can't wait tongo back!!
Well worth the Drive
Well worth the hour and twenty minute drive. Whole course in great shape (played the links). Definitely going to go back
Lakes & Links 7/8 October
Always a pleasure playing both the Links & Lakes. Both courses are in great condition apart from the bunkers that need a little attention. Greens are great for attacking the pins which I love doing. If you have never played Squaw Valley I would highly recommend a visit. Great value for money with helpful friendly staff.
Nice day
We got a hot deal for an 11:52 tee time. It had been raining up until mid morning, then cleared for us. It was cart path only at first, but after about 5 holes, the marshal removed the restrictions. Perfect conditions, very good greens, not too busy (due to weather fears?), and a good time was had by all.
The Lovely Lakes Course
The Squaw Valley layout in Glen Rose, Texas, is one of the best values in the area. We played the Comanche Lakes course, which has water hazards on about six holes, deceivingly long par-3s and two holes with double fairways. It's a great course and very well maintained by the Squaw Valley staff.
Fun open course
We played the Links at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose and thoroughly enjoyed our round. The greens are in great shape and the layout of the course demands strategy. The friendly staff tops off the great experience! I highly recommend this course... personally we prefer the Lakes course, but the Links is fun.
