Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course
About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

What a hidden gem!!
Was very hesitant to make the 45 min drive to play this course from Burleson. Wow, what a layout!! Very fair but challenging track. The greens were the best I've rolled all year. This is one of the best public values in DFW. Friendly staff, pace of play was great, and the course was absolutely beautiful!! Definetly one of my new favorites, I can't wait tongo back!!
Well worth the Drive
Well worth the hour and twenty minute drive. Whole course in great shape (played the links). Definitely going to go back
Lakes & Links 7/8 October
Always a pleasure playing both the Links & Lakes. Both courses are in great condition apart from the bunkers that need a little attention. Greens are great for attacking the pins which I love doing. If you have never played Squaw Valley I would highly recommend a visit. Great value for money with helpful friendly staff.
Nice day
We got a hot deal for an 11:52 tee time. It had been raining up until mid morning, then cleared for us. It was cart path only at first, but after about 5 holes, the marshal removed the restrictions. Perfect conditions, very good greens, not too busy (due to weather fears?), and a good time was had by all.
The Lovely Lakes Course
The Squaw Valley layout in Glen Rose, Texas, is one of the best values in the area. We played the Comanche Lakes course, which has water hazards on about six holes, deceivingly long par-3s and two holes with double fairways. It's a great course and very well maintained by the Squaw Valley staff.
Fun open course
We played the Links at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose and thoroughly enjoyed our round. The greens are in great shape and the layout of the course demands strategy. The friendly staff tops off the great experience! I highly recommend this course... personally we prefer the Lakes course, but the Links is fun.
Great!!
Wonderful course! The greens are in great shape. The fairways are very well taken care of. Even the bunkers are better then any other public course I've been to.
5 Stars
Favorite place to play. Conditions are always great. 2 great choices between 2 different courses. Well worth the drive. You won't be disappointed.
A favorite link style course of mine.
A challenging but very fun to play course.Great fairways and greens.Love the layout. You will use every club in your bag. Some long par 4s and some short par 4s.Even the sand traps were well maintained.Look forward to playing it again soon. Not another course of this caliber for the price. Thanks to everyone who works at SquawValley Golf!Great job!
Solid course
I enjoy playing either course, staff is always friendly. The course was ok to solid, it's August in Texas, so course held up. Greens were great!
Great course
We played the Apache Links in 3.5 hours. Course is in great shape. Greens roll true. I like the layout as it lets you challenge yourself as much as you want. Senior tees play a little short but the White Tees are about 1,000 yards longer. So the challenge is there. Plenty of trees, bummers and water. It is a fun course. Wish I had time to play the Comanche Lakes today!
Apache links
Overall good day of golf. Pace was horrible. Behind large family reunion group who took forever on each hole. Love both courses. Try to come to glen rose at least once a year to enjoy the golf.
Fantastic shape for August
It's been probably 25 years since I last played here. It's a fun course and in great shape. The front 9 was very slow there were 2 foursomes ahead of us and it took them nearly 15 minutes to complete one hole. After calling in they sent a Marshal out and it got a little better. The back 9 was alot better. I'll go back.
challenging mounds
one of the fun was dealing with many mounds in some holes. It was even more unpredictable than any other courses that I have been played.
It gave me very much fun and excitement. I love to play again.
