Always a great place to play.
This course is a must play in the Northern Indiana area. Now that they're on GN, I'll probably play it more often. The conditions were good, the layout is great and it's a tough course. My only complaint, let's get those ball washers out there please. I'm sure they'll be out there soon...not a big deal.
Great Greens & Routing
The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame captured my attention; it traverses some underwhelming land in a fun way. It lacks elevation gain but has excellent green complexes. Reminiscent of some century-old courses, it’s lenient on the tee box but challenges around the green.
It feels like it was designed with competition in mind; home-field advantage could be a real factor at Warren. I wanted another shot at almost every putt I hit.
As much as I don’t want to admit I like something associated with the Fighting Irish, I have to say this golf course is cool. The Coore & Crenshaw crew has this architecture thing pretty ironed out.
Nice track, best one in South Bend
Nice layout. Greens were smooth and moderate speed. All traps were in good shape, very nice sand and plenty of rakes to keep them that way.
We flew around the front, then at the turn it turned into a snails pace. 1:40 to play front, 2:45 to play back. The ranger showed up on 17th hole after the damage had been done.
Grabbed a couple of dogs and two power aides, seemed a bit pricey for $20. Also they don’t accept cash so make sure you bring plastic along.
Other than that a fun track that’s not overly bad if you send a drive wayward. Rough wasn’t rough and finished with same ball I started with.
Good course
Like this course but prefer Blackthorn up the street. Greens were sanded before we played. Was in ok condition for late April but feel like it was behind other courses in the area on spring maintenance.
Coore Crenshaw
People of Indiana have it spoiled when it comes to great golf. Not many places in the country you can play a Coore Crenshaw design and spend less than 100$. We played the last day of the regular season in 2021. We had an earlier tee time and we were on frost delay for most of the day. We did not end up teeing off until noon. Despite the frost delay, I enjoyed myself. Pace of play was good, course was in mint condition and I would love to play here again. We were paired with 2 alumni that were in town for the football game
Great day on a special golf course!
The Warren at Notre Dame, with its lush fairways and perfectly manicured greens, provided a memorable day of golf.
Loved it
I thought it was an excellent layout and manageable course.
The views of the golden dome were awesome, the starter was very friendly and just a great experience.
Hope to be back with some friends.
Best course in Michiana
This is a beautiful course, and in my opinion, the best one I’ve played since moving here 2 years ago. The staff is excellent, and the course is pristine.
Great Course! Must Play
First time playing Warren and the bar was set pretty high since they hosted a US Senior Open...Well lets just say Warren didn't disappoint. Course conditions were very nice, fairways and tees were good. Greens were in excellent shape and the layout was tough yet fair.
best part is 12 min tee time intervals, so pace of play was not an issue at all!!! Def must play if you are near South Bend
Incomplete Grade
Being at Notre Dame, and hosting the US Senior Open this year, along with being a Coore & Crenshaw design it had expectations. I was a little surprised to see today that they were already setting up grandstands for the event that is 2 months away. The course has been rerouted for the open and the fescue was mown, they were top dressing many fairways, and the greens were bumpy from fertilizer/sand that had been applied a few days ago. But, they still charged full freight. Guess you can do that when You're Notre Dame and people will pay whatever for something with the branding. I'm just a fan, and it left a sour taste in my mouth.
As for the course it's a fairly traditional, straightforward design. But given the conditions today it's hard to really judge the course. Seems like when the fescue is there to catch sprays, it would be a very tight tough course. I'll go back after the open at some point and review again and see how it plays.
Coore/Crenshaw public gem
This Coore/Crenshaw course is just a few miles from my house. Such a fun course at a great price.
Warren course at Notre dame
Like everything else at the university of Notre dame the warren course is first class in every respect. From the cart delivery at your vehicle , to the warm reception and welcome at the starters shack our experience was top notch. Course was in great shape, greens were fast and smooth pace of play was brisk. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our round and can't wait for next trip.
Outstanding
Do NOT lend any credence to a negative review about this golf course. For anyone to give this course a rating lower than 4 stars, well, I'll keep it polite and simply say they are flat out wrong. I have played golf all over the USA, playing several courses "ranked" Top 100, Top 10 in each state, etc. This gem easily ranks in my personal top 5 in Indiana (public). The Dye Course at French Lick may be the only course I'd rank in front of it. Perfect tees, fairways, bunkers & greens. Over 1" of rain fell literally minutes before we played and the course drained extremely well, greens still had above average speed. The course is very easy on the eyes, the clubhouse is outstanding, Pro Shop is top notch and the staff friendly. I am NOT from South Bend, have zero connection to the university, but I am an avid, single digit HC golfer, and am looking forward to returning to Warren GC soon and often. BRAVO
