Clear Creek Golf Course
About
Clear Creek Golf Course is a flat, wide-open links-style track loaded with water and bunkers. The only sort of elevation changes you'll experience come from the ravines that route through the course and the undulating greens.
The back nine is the more challenging, spiced up by some interesting par 3s and two outstanding par 5s. Clear Creek's 11th hole goes 555 yards and involves an approach over a ravine, and No. 13 is a 584-yard monster that double-doglegs to a skinny green framed by bunkers.

A great course in a great location
We play Clear Creek a lot. We have always been impressed with the condition of the course and the professionalism of the staff. The kitchen is always clean and the staff makes you feel welcome. I recommend this course to all of my friends. We will be back!
It's January but the course is in good shape for winter. Not overly long or tight but with challenging multilevel greens. I have played it many times and will be back for sure.
Good course , good value for the money....
Our foursome includes Clear Creek as one of the places we frequent.....the course is well maintained, although the bunkers do some need attention....the layout is fair and competitive with the greens almost always in great shape...pace of play is around four hours and change but they could the presence of a marshall to push along the slower players....while we usually book thru GolfNow for our tee times, Clear Creek will honor online pricing which could save you some booking fees.....one note: there aren't many trees on the 18 hole layout so the wind plays a factor here.
Nice course
Our first time here it's decently challenging greens are tough to read to make up for a very flat Texas fairways and overall layout. For $25 weekday including cart sleeve of balls and one drink ticket it's a very good deal!
Average
Fairways are dry. Greens are average-- a little slow and bumpy but reasonably receptive. Fairways and rough are indistinguishable and a little hard and bare. Tee boxes need some attention. None of the tee boxes face the fairway or green which is a little annoying. Bunkers have pebbles if they are not bare. Course layout isn't too exciting and is very flat. Overall average municipal course. Wouldn't bring friends to play but for a cheap weekday round is ok.
Good course
The overall course was not to bad. Good tee boxes good fairways. Only real concern with course is bunkers. They were horrible an have been for quite awhile. Have no idea why they can't seem to get them ready.
great course features
Really enjoy the challenges laid out in this course design. Back nine is more difficult then th front.
Played this course numerous times
This course is well maintained but the toilet facilities are deplorable
No marshal
Nice fairways and greens, horrible bunkers. High uncut grass off fairways, very difficult locating your ball, unless you walk directly over it. Hit and miss on slow play, any days or times of the week, never a marshal or starter person. T times are pretty much any times there. Over all nice course, driving range, and practice area, carts with gps. Not worth the $55 weekend rate fee.
Frequent Player at CC
The course was in good shape as always. Best course in town for the money. Usually crowded however, we played at 2:00 on a Friday and therefore didn't experience slow play, probably due to the hot temperature. Only issue would be the quality and different types of sand in some of the bunkers/traps.
Nice track
I booked a 12:30 tee time for cheap. I was expecting the course to be empty due to it being midweek and 95+ degree weather. Nope, it was packed. I was a single and joined two other singles to do what we could to help the pace. Once we made the turn, the course opened up and we picked up our pace.
On another note, the course was in great shape. For the hot deal price I paid, it can't be beat.
Slow second round
Went out at noon the first time on a hot deal. Was well worth the $ I paid for that. The course was challenging. I played a second round that started at about 3:30 PM. the first nine were great then pace of play screeched to a halt!! Could not finish it was agonizing. I only gave the course a 3 star rating because the rough was so tall and full of grass clippings that it was impossible to find a wayward shot. Also the bunkers were crusty and Hard. Fairways and greens in great shape....Now if I could only hit them!!
CLEAR CREEK
THE FAIRWAYS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION AND THE GREENS ARE ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR
Great well kept course
This was a great course. I was surprised by the well kept greens and GPS. Little if any shade but cold beer on the 19th for $2. Will be back.
Play Here for the LONG DRIVES off the tee
I will agree with other reviews on the pace of play. Though I teed off at 6:30am and worked myself around one groups of two, by the time I finished that same two-some was only on the 11th hole. As I finished , I saw there was a large back up at the 3rd to 1st hole with players hands on their hips waiting and waiting to hit and it appeared the slower groups did not have a care in the world or took notice. ( Where at those volunteer Marshalls that work for FREE golf??) Just my observation. I would have been upset if I teed up at 8:30am to this display.
The greens were mostly good to better and fairways are pretty wide open. I enjoyed using my Thunderstick off the tee to gain 20 to 30 more yds without worrying too much about a lost ball. The only pits of the course are the SAND TRAPS. Everyone else has already addressed this issue in their reviews.
Can't say there was a hole that struck me as a Signature Hole, but I did like #2 and #11 for its Risk-Reward factor. ( I played it safe on account of so-so drives did not give me the opportunity)
I would play again just for the ability to use my driver to its fullest potential. FYI: I am a 14 HCP that plays 3 to 4 times a week from May to Sept.
After the Rain
As we were checking in a huge storm rolled in. It looked as if we would not be able to play. We had a bite to eat in the club house. After about 20 mins. the storm move on an we were able to tee off. The coarse was in perfect shape. The storm cooled the air but it could'nt help my poor round. But the overall experience was a memorable one.
Great course for the price
Course is in good condition. Fairways and greens are in good shape.
needs help!
I played this course several years ago, remembered it as a very open, but OK course. The course was in horrible shape. Almost every sand trap had no sand, there were actually weeds growing in the traps...99% were unplayable. They had more sand on the greens then they had in any trap. The greens were like putting on the beach. Lots of overgrowth on the fairways and rough, like they have not mowed in a week. However, I was able to get a VERY good deal on Golf Now, so the $20 pp I paid, I guess was worth the round. With Southwyck right around the corner, it will be hard to go back.
