Mar Hall Golf & Spa Resort - Earl of Mar Golf Course

The fairways are in excellent condition but greens were a bit sparse and rather bumpy perhaps due to the long dry spell.

A fantastic course, sadly the greens were being cored across the course, so some dodgy rolls on the greens. Apart from that course in excellent condition and a great variety of holes. Will be back.

Overall course condition was great, The course was recently taken over after along time of neglect, it is easy to see that things a starting to improve and that money is being spent on the course, I would highly recommend playing Marr Hall, it may have some negatives this now but what course doesn't, I am sure it can only go from strength to strength and I look forward to playing it again soon.

Had been wanting to play this one for a while, it didn't disappoint! Course was in great condition (greens could have been better) but amazing views of the Clyde and surrounding area. Great value for money on golfnow £45) would recommend this to anyone for a challenging but enjoyable round of golf.

This is 1 that has been on my bucket list for a while. Brilliant value at £45 for a Sunday pre lunchtime tee off. Right from pulling into the grounds, speaking to the club pro, course layout, clubhouse amenities, this place has the lot. Course conditions were perfect. True roll greens, thick first cut rough. Huge, soft sand bunkers that are well placed. I will definitely be back.

Played Mar Hall yesterday and I’ve never been so disappointed in a courses greens before. When we played it about 5:6 weeks ago the greens were smooth and fast. Yesterday they were very slow and bumpy, couldn’t believe I was playing the same course. Such a shame as I love the layout of the course along the side of the River Clyde.

We arrived early and had a tasty lunch in the clubhouse, when checking in at the pro shop the service was excellent, friendly and informed. Like any course in the west of Scotland the courses are still warming up for the season but no complaints. Would return for another round later in the summer.

Just sensational from one to 18, greens eill be spectacular in a mths time. But the views and surroundings were picture postcard. Golf pro just a gent and the green keepers could not have been nicer. £50 per player incredible value. Go play it

Great deal, excellent value for money, course was in fantastic conditions for the time of year, will definitely play again.

Course was in great condition for the the time of year, was very busy so a little slow at times, but overall a great day on a lovely course, will definitely return.

The course has not been maintained to previous standards. Greens are unpredictable, bunkers are bereft of sand, full of sticks/branches and animal burrows. Tees are bare. Course layout is uninspired and I would struggle to recall any specific hole.

There is a long walk to the first tee and the putting green beside it is not very inviting to say the least. The same can be said about the rest of the course.

The tees were in very poor shape, lumpy and uneven with bare patches - a bit like a public course. The grass on the fairways was cut a bit too high and there was very little

run, although conditions were fairly dry. On three or four fairways too, and one right in front of the green, there was a pile of cut grass clippings which you could lose your ball in if you were unlucky! The greens staff hadn't even bothered to pick the stuff up!

There is very little first cut in the rough so if you stray from the fairway you're very quickly up to your knees searching hopelessly for a lost ball.

The greens were a bit worn in places but were mainly satsfactory.

We ate in the hotel after the round and found the prices seriously elevated!

Definitely one to give a miss. There's better and cheaper elsewhere.

Great course and layout. Greens by far worst I’ve seen in long time. Due to this definitely not worth the money

Great course with amazing views. Greens are in excellent condition although some of the fairways need a little tlc but should come good theough the summer.

An enjoyable day ! Course was great and weather was exceptional!

My opinion on this course is that it’s a little long but beautiful lay out greens were pure and consistent throughout course , we had really bad weather but course held up well in rain , nowhere to go when heavy showers came on , definitely will be back when weather gets better , staff were amazing and helpful

Brilliant course and layout. Only thing that bugged me, I was playing by myself, 3 or 4 groups let me play through on the front 9 then got stuck behind a fourball who wouldn’t let me play through. Still a great course in great condition. Would recommend

I'd been wanting to play Marr Hall for years and finally got a good price on Golf Now. Probably not the bet time of year though, a wet Sunday in February. The course was very wet underfoot, some holes worse than others particularly near the river. The greens were poor and need some maintenance. The bunkers were not raked and I often found my ball in a footprint in the sand. Overall though a lovely layout and I'd imagine a stunning location to play on a summers evening. New owners have taken over the Marr Hall estate so I'm hoping, once the hotel renovations are over, that they turn their attention to the golf course.
