About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Still a nice place to play
Good conditions for February though some green work was in progress. Afternoon tee times not crowded but a lot of non foursomes that seemed flustered by the foursomes. Snack bar on 10 closed at 3 pm. Very small $6 practice ball bucket. Back to 2 to a cart.

Slow Pace.
Played this past Sunday. Staff and starter are always nice. Course was a little soft from a little rain earlier that morning. Pace of play was the issue today. The group in front of me was extremely slow. The fact that I was walking and they were on golf carts and one hole in front of me. I caught up to them on hole seven. They finally let me go past them. Other than that, in enjoyed playing the front nine. After playing the from nine. I wanted to hit on the range. It was 3:30 and the staff explained that they couldn’t sell any range balls because of maintenance. That was a disappointment.
