Well worth a visit
Really enjoyed this course. Played as a single at 3pm on Saturday and course was very quiet. Round in 3hrs 45min with no waiting at tees. It’s a good layout with lots of nice touches and holes that need some thought.
Two par threes over water into the prevailing wind need you to nail the club choice and be brave. I’d visit again.
Great course but poor members!
Second time of playing this course and had the same experience, course was in great condition, greens immaculate, layout is good too! The only thing I feel let’s its down is its members! Maybe it’s the normal thing at this course but I constantly felt they was firing there tee shots right behind us with no call. We was slightly behind play due to a slow four ball in front so maybe a little consideration would have been good! The whole place feels very clicky!
All in all a good course, definitely worth playing for a mid/low handicap but would not recommend for high handicap or someone who has just started playing.
Nice course
Nice layout. Fairways were a bit dry, but greens were lush and consistent
Very slow pace of play, grass could do with watering
Slowest pace of play I’ve witnessed; there were 3-4 pairs of golfers waiting on each hole. Great course layout but the grass could do with a water
Great course, varied interesting hole layouts in good condition
My favourite place to play in the area. Welcomes visitors and being able to check availability and book online is very helpful.
Course design is great. Interesting layout on every hole, plenty of variation. Sand and water hazards, not too much elevation. Every hole has it's challenge and there aren't any blind tee shots.
Greens are probably a bit too easy for great players but as a (currently I hope) pretty bad putter I appreciate they aren't crazy fast or heavily sloping.
Great driving range with Toptracer tech and decent little practice area.
I just wish they had a couple of nets to use when I am rushing onto a round without time for balls on the range.
Well above par!
We travel around playing different courses in the midlands every week, this is my 2nd time at Aston Wood and it is one of the best courses I’ve played recently..The course was in great condition and not a blemish on the greens which ran nice and smooth . Pace of play was a bit slow first few holes, (which is to be expected on a Sunday morning)but after that it was fine not much waiting around on tee boxes. The pro in the shop was very helpful, I would definitely recommend a visit well worth it.. Great day. 👍🏻🏌️♂️⛳️
Fantastic condition
Must admit I've played it twice before a couple of years ago (winter golf) and I liked the layout of the holes and I'd say overall it was in half decent condition for the time of year but playing it just after the recent hot weather where most courses around are struggling with thier greens and fairways, it was very pleasing to to turn up and play this course in its amazing condition
The greens were absolutely fantastic, ran true and were obviously regularly watered as they looked amazing
For £32 in twilight it's a no brainner
Aston wood
Immaculate golf course best greens I have been on for years absolutely immaculate will definitely play again
Lovely course, but…..
The course is lovely and the greens were in great condition. Course Marshall came around to check play was up to speed.
Tenth hole snack bar was cash only, which was a disappointment, especially on a day when temperatures hit 27 degrees! Good warm up facilities with a well looked after putting green and a driving range with Top Tracer machines.
I played like my arms belonged to someone else, good in parts. Played the course a few times and have enjoyed it every time.
Quality course for the price
Course was in great condition, the layout is challenging and the greens were immaculate.
Highly recommend for the price.
Pristine condition.
Playing this course was one of the best decisions ive made on this app. The course is in unbelievable condition and a great challenge to every golfer. Price wise is a bit high for the app but its worth every penny. Played with a previous member so helped me massively, navigation is perfect and well sign posted. Long course from the whites and I'll be back without hesitation. Credit to staff and members very well looked after.
Interesting course with plenty of water
Visited before for functions and the driving range but first time playing the course. Staff in pro shop very friendly and helpful. The course is VERY flat but the interesting mix of holes stops it from being boring. Most holes have something to them to keep you interested, with good doglegs and use of water. In great condition after the recent good weather too. £42 for an early Sunday afternoon in April isn’t the cheapest but it’s definitely not rip off territory. Will come again
Excellent quirky tricky in parts
Great golf course
Definitely play again
So many little creeks and hazards perfectly placed
Quite tricky in parts
Greens were great and ran true but fairly slow
Hence the 4 star overall
100% recommend 👌🏼
