Baildon Golf Club

We have scrolled past Baildon GC all summer in favour of nearby Bingley, Shipley etc. How good can it be for £12? After the first hole transports you to the second tee, it answers that question. Glorious views, fun routing, lots of variety and a fair test. Members and staff were very friendly, it’s obvious that pride is taken in welcoming visitors. If you’re scared away by the wind, keep an eye on the weather and pick a nice day to give it a try. We’ll be back.

Played this course for the first time on a beautiful day.Initially you feel like you’re in the middle of a council estate but it’s soon apparent that the whole course opens out to a magnificent heathland vista.Visitors pay £15 and it will be the best value golf they are ever likely to pay.

I played this course for the first time, amazing views of the surrounding area. Greens and fairways in great condition. I didn't see any staff as I'd started before they opened up. Overall really enjoyed it, obviously it was quite windy, but that's to be expected on top of a hill.

If you can hit the fairways you can score well here. Pace of play was abit slow as I was behind a 2 ball but as it was first time I didn't mind following them around. Great value for £16 and will probably play again next week. Think this will be a course that will stay open year round with not too many issues as the wind will dry the course in the winter.

The course has a variety of holes each with their own challenges. The greens were in good condition with varying shapes and slopes

Very interesting layout. Quite a hard walk being on a hill and wind was brutal. You see everything at baildon- bike riders, dog walkers, groups of people on horseback, walkers, you aren’t alone at any stage. However it didn’t detract from the round.

I will say baildon have some condition issues- I’m not an expert but the fairways were not ideal, but it has been a strange year with furloughed staff, no rain for months then a couple of months with tons of rain.

I paid £13 for the round which despite the conditions on a few holes was outstanding value. This is visually a great course with possibly the best views I’ve ever seen on an inland course.

I also give baildon credit for lowering green fees and memberships this year due to reflect the conditioning - most courses don’t do that. This one should be on your bucket list if you live in Yorkshire

My wife and had a great day, we felt very welcomed on arrival, really enjoyed the course and will be back.

Very happy with the golf at Baildon. A challenging course due to its narrow fairways however, well thought out course. Amazing back drop and scenery. I would definitely recommend.

The course is not overly long, however if you don’t hit the fairway you are in a world of trouble with heather lining every fairway. This is definitely a course for straight hitters and rewards course management. The course was in great condition although the greens were on the slow side, there was a strong wind which really challenged us, and knowing the area, will be a factor whenever you play. The views from the course are amazing and the members were friendly. I would highly recommend the course but remember if you bring your slice you better bring a lot of balls!

Very enjoyable course. Quite exposed but very interesting layout and while not being particularly long you've not got much room for error. Overall good value for money, very friendly staff and I will definitely play again.

This course is one of the best course around Leeds! I have played golf almost 15 course around Leeds, and here is one of the best course indeed. Especially, the stunning view is top of them. You can hit a tee shot toward Are valley and Ilkly moor!! It was the best moment for me. In addition, the staff was very kind as well. Highly recommend, and of course, I will go to the golf club again!

Arrived at Baildon just after 9am and on arrival at the clubhouse was taken aback by the freindliness of the staff. They were absolutely fantastic in making me feel welcome. They gave me a free pencil and scorecard! :-)

Really enjoyed the course and was very challenging. Not much room for error at all. Fairways were great (when I hit one :-)) but greens were quite bobbly.

Excellent test of golf. Course ‘eats golf balls’ if you stray off the fairways. Great views of the Aire & Wharfe Valleys. Well worth playing.

Played here on a glorious summer afternoon. This is a challenging but excellent golf course with some stunning views. I would recommend any fellow golfer to give this course a try. Friendly, helpful staff. Even offered half a dozen golf balls for a £1 donation to charity! Take it - you’ll definitely loose some unless you are an extremely straight hitter!
