Bing key st ives
The course was really poor I should have rung the course for its condition before booking it on line I will do my homework next time.
Terrific day out
I have played Bingley St Ives a number of times over the last 15 years or so. It enjoys a a picturesque setting as part of a wider private estate with great views and provides a testing course for golfers of all standards. The staff are welcoming to visitors with services safely delivered in these Covid-19 times. The course was in good condition although one or two of the greens were a touch worse for wear this is understandable at this time of year. We were lucky enough to enjoy brilliant autumn weather which added a great deal to the golfing.experience. Our foursome were very much of the view that we would come back to play this course again.
Really enjoyed the course. The only improvement would be better signage around the course as sometimes difficult to find where next tee was. Especially the 4th but will be back
Champion!
Fab course. Beautiful mix of parkland, heathland and gorse. Number 11 a very quirky, fab hole & overall just a great course. Superb value.
Shame it isn’t closer to York!
Inner circle day out
We rock to the clud ,meet by a very friendly pro shop member, sent upstairs to great breakfast. Then out on the course, great test it was windy. All the staff was brilliant thanks for making a good day golf, and we won .
Fab!
Gorgeous course. Wanted to play it for years and finally did and was not disappointed. A beautiful track. Great holes. 11th is pretty funky. Just really enjoyed it. Recommend.
11th best in Yorkshire?!
Top courses of the world site rank this course as the 11th best in Yorkshire which is clearly wrong. It would be lucky to be in the top 20.
Parkland for the first 8 holes, then course gets really good on the 9th, after the 14th goes back to parkland.
If you are in the area you’ll find baildon cheaper and better. There’s nothing much wrong with Bingley as such but many holes you’ve seen before don’t make it that interesting. If it wasn’t for the middle part of the course it wouldn’t be in the top 50 in Yorkshire.
Also I am reliably informed the club links itself to Alistair McKenzie yet he didn’t have anything to do with the course, instead it was Charles McKenzie.
Worth £15 hot deal, anything more than £20 is a little over the top.
Challenging moorland/parkland course in great condition
Great course - nice varied and challenging layout.
Pro shop staff very welcoming.
Tee boxes very tidy and greens in great condition and fast.
4 ball in front not very aware of 1-ball (me) and 2 2-balls behind, so I added a 2-hole loop, playing holes 12 and 13 twice, as no one following me, in order to space out play.
I wouldn’t definitely play again when I visit this area.
Enjoyable round on great course
Always like Bingley St Ives it is a challenging yet enjoyable course. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My only negative on the day was that a single golfer was pushing the two ball behind us and our 4 ball was right behind the 4 ball in front as a result the round was hurried somewhat
Fantastic
The course was in great condition, really enjoyed the variety of different types of golf holes within one course.
The miniatures were fantastic and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Slow play Society nightmare
Played this course a number of times over the years. Course itself is a nice mix of holes, always plays long and typically the wind blows. Greens are always in good condition and quick. You need to hit driver well to reach a lot of fairways. Playing yesterday there was a golf society of three four balls of retired age golfers who turned up late which delayed my tee time and took 3 hours to complete 12 holes, regularly struggled to reach the fairway resulting in loads of looking for balls and hacking out which resulted in them losing nearly 4 holes on the Group in front. Both our 2 ball and the 2 groups behind me ended up walking in. Whilst not really the clubs fault it spoilt the day.
Magnificent inland links
This was my first time around this course on the recommendation of friends. It's a stunner. A real, grown up golf course. Although long on paper, the links-like terrain means there is a lot of run on the ball, so the longer holes do not feel massive. The course has two different feels - more parkland at the bottom of the hill and distinctly heathland on top with heather rough on rocky outcrops. The course was in great condition and have the best greens I have played on in a long while - super quick but absolutely true - a real credit to the ground staff. This is a very true test of golf, probably favouring a golfer with a draw off the tee with more right to left holes than left to right. Brilliantly fun final hole (177 yards downhill) is the last in a long line of terrific holes. Loved it and will be back.
