18th hole is alittle beauty of a par 3
What a cracking course ,from tee off on the first then having to walk over the bridge to get to fairway. To coming to the 18th par 3 in front of the clubs House.. In between challenging holes that make you think.Everybody who I have met ,being on the course or around the club have been so friendly. Definitely one of my favourite courses. Definitely value for money.
Great Course
Little gem of a course, great lay out and a gorgeous little par 3 to finish with infant of club
Excellent
Played again here as they do great early morning deals £20 for 18 holes as I always like to play between 6am and 7am so it's a great price for a great course it's a shame other courses dont follow northcliffes example of not charging full price for a time when not many people are using the course so well done for that and will definitely be back to play this great course
A* Course, D- Staff
First time playing Northcliffe and we’ll start with the positives first. As someone who lives nearby, wow what a golf course. Condition of this course, the challenge of it and the variation is nothing short of class. On this basis I’d recommend it however there are some frustrations.
1) You can’t hire a buggy after 2pm, which in summer is ridiculous. Excuse I was given was there would be nobody in to lock them up yet the clubhouse bar was open when the round finished. This is nonsense. If you are paying normally £40+ a round, I expect to have access to buggy’s for twilight golf in summer.
2) Staff member in pro shop was miserable. Again not good for the prestige of the course.
3) Value for money excellent but I got a deal for £25 for twilight golf, if I’d have paid full price I’d have been more than frustrated about the guest experience.
4) Course could do with better signage for where the next holes are.
Overall would recommend, purely on the course: rest room for improvement!
Great course poor condtion
Played here a few times last summer and it was excellent greens fairways were brilliant and the course is really interesting so was looking forward to playing again.
Arrived to be told 1 hole was closed due to been too wet. Course was very boggy and the greens were terrible very bobbly and the holes weren't even cut properly. I understand its only early into the golf season but played other courses locally which are in much better shape. Hope to return when we have had some better weather for longer periods and enjoy this great golf course.
Great course
Lovely course great set out 1st and 18th holes are great. Course in good condition considering weather we have had played twice on here now and enjoyed both times would definitely recommend. P.s the 1st in summer could be daunting hitting over the ravine with everyone sat looking from the beer terrace ha ha. If I have any bad points it's just no ball cleaners on the course and unless I'm blind cant see anywhere to clean trolley after the round but dont let this stop you playing as it's a great course and very friendly
Played in October, really wet. ☹️
Played in October, really wet and boggy. Lots of bits on greens. Not worth the £25 each 🙁 I’m sure it’s better in Summer 👍
Absolute belter of a course
I will be back, lovely layout and excellent condition in all the right places.
Great afternoon
1st tee is daunting but absolutely beautiful. Staff were so friendly as were the club members in show us around. The course was so nice for the end of April. Can’t wait to see it in the summer. Thanks to all at NGC for a great day
Little Gem
First time playing this course and will definitely be back, fairways, greens and T boxes all in great condition, some challenging holes, booked on at 7.20, Pro shop opened at 7.30 so had to wait around a few minutes to get a scorecard, nice bar and viewing terrace to watch people playing the 1st and the stunning par 3 18th. can't really fault the place.
Great Solo Holiday Round
Played at 7.12am while on holiday nearby and thought this was a brilliant course! Fair test for a 20-25 handicapper like me with holes you can score on as well as card wreckers if you don’t keep it on the short grass. Lots of lovely views and a course well worth playing if you’re in the area. Couldn’t use facilities as I was the first on the course and nothing was open but luckily got a spare scorecard from a member teeing off after me.
Excellent as always
Played our annual round at north Cliff last Friday- as always the course was excellent and all staff friendly and welcoming - great value for a tricky underestimated course and a superb finishing hole which somehow looks better each year but never plays any easier!
Good Course
Good holes and an interesting layout. Conditions perfect.
Minor quibble
Only quibble was the lack of hole directions in some cases (8th comes to mind). The 18th hole has to be one of the most charming holes I’ve ever played. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the course and will return at some stage.
Great afternoons golf
Course was in great condition and a warm afternoon made for a great days golf.
First time I have played the course and was surprised that this little gem was only 4 miles from home - will definitely play here again.
