Lovely course, will definitely be back.
Course was very soft when we played. Granted we had a day of rain prior to playing but didn’t expect it to be as soft as it was. Not sure what it would be like in the winter.
With that being said, it’s a lovely, challenging course which makes you use every club in your bag.
There is a great warm up area. Probably the best I’ve been too and the club shop is filled with everything you need. Really friendly gentleman behind the counter who aided us on guidance around the course (as there is a few road crossings) so we weren’t to get lost!
Would highly recommend if looking for a challenge on a new course.
A beautiful course on a beautiful evening
I played in a 3 ball trying to beat our previous weeks score. The course was in brilliant condition, I played well and we had a great round.
Quite a few long holes but very pretty with several ponds and plenty of wild life to see as you walk the fairways.
Definitely recommended
Great course
Great course in great condition with plenty of challenging holes.
Beautiful course, from the well kept fairways to the very well maintained greens.
One of the best courses I've played.
Top draw course and club
Fantastic course, well kept, the whole course is in great condition throughout
The greens are immaculate quick/tricky too.
The course is a credit to the groundstaffs work!
The only criticism for me was the lack of 200/150/100 stakes, although there were centred plates in the fairway, not everybody stays on the fairways!!! We were visitors so they would be a great addition for non members
Its the best course we have played up to now this year.
Return visit
I have played this course many years back and forgotten how good it really is. Although it was a little soft underfoot and the fairways had no roll at all it was still a very enjoyable course, greens were great for the time of year and the fairways and rough were in good condition and the ground staff were out cutting the rough. I will return in the summer.

Love this golf course played a few times
At £20 you can’t beat it👍
Birchwood - a real gem!
Great day out - course in great condition - staff really friendly!
Good challenge
First time playing Birchwood and wasn’t disappointed, it’s a course you have to think about placement on a lot of holes, tee boxes in good condition, fairways had been spiked the day before so not playing as they should but all to keep the course in good nick and will be great in a week or so, greens very good so all in all a very tidy well looked after course, guy in pro shop very helpful, I’m guessing he’s the pro, really enjoyed the round and impressed with the course layout, playing there again next week.
Little Gem
Cracking course played it on the off chance glad I did, guy in the pro shop was polite and helpful, course is well maintained and great value for money
Fair Test
Great value £20 for a Friday 3pm round. Course was ok considering the hot summer has caused some damage but now 2 weeks of heavy rain.have left it very soft in places. A fair test of every golfing ability as the many ditches and ponds means you need to think your way around the course and not just whack it a far as you can.
Decent game
Was a nice ok knock with some great holes was hitting a lot of irons of the tees only used my driver twice course was in good condition patches on few of the greens but a good game had the place to are self would play again
Great course
It’s a bit pricey (£28). It also didn’t help the fact there was a 3 ball and a 2 ball in front of us who joined together to make a 5 ball, we tee’d off at 14:36 and the course was in excellent condition
Beautiful course
The course is in great condition. Plenty of hazards but also well planned out. The greens were in good conditions.
Nice warm up area with nets, chipping area and putting green.
Best condition I've ever played this course
Best condition I've ever played this course .had the course to are selves fantastic true running greens if there 1 thing that could be improved it's the new sand in the bunkers but I'm sure the excellent green staff are aware and will be sorting it. Great course Great condition
Decent course shame needed matts wasn’t advertised pre booking
Good course quite long. But I’d say very much a summer course certain parts where very boggy and unfortunately not owning a matt (didn’t realise before booking matts where needed. Should really advertise on GolfNow or wouldn’t of booked it) otherwise fairly good layout to course and some very good pin positions. Greens were pretty good considering how wet most of the course was. Lost a few balls to plug lies and took a few minutes to find the odd ball in the middle of the fairway. We teed off at 12:44 with nobody in front of us for miles. Flew round first 12 in under 2 hours with no issues until on the 13th two women cut over (from hole adjacent) and teed off in front of us as we crossed road to play the 13th this slowed us down so much it took us another 2 hours to finish the remaining holes finishing just before darkness ensued.. slightly disappointing finish to a okay round of golf. I’d recommend this course in the summer when dry but for winter there’s quite a lot better for the £15 price we paid.. if your playing in the winter Bring your welly’s.
Great place
I work away and pay and play all round the country.
From the helpful pro in shop, to the guys who invited me to join their Wednesday sweep was very welcoming, great course and great people.
The course is really good, not easy but not ridiculously hard either, I’m 15 handicap and enjoyed it a lot.
Deffo recommend this to anyone A++
Thank you
