Golfer Reviews
Nice course
One of regular haunts which is challenging but fair. Unfortunately our round was spoiled by two women who were so slow that every hole became backed up. They seemed oblivious to anyone else on the course. There should be Marshals to prevent slow play.
Nice Round
Course in reasonable condition after a bit of rain which made conditions better
Good, but unbelievably slow
The greens are in good condition, the fairways are average plus and the tee boxes aren't too clever at the moment. However, the pace of play was dreadfully slow. We were over 5 hours as a 3ball.
This course desperately needs a marshal to monitor the groups and gee up those going too slowly.
I certainly won't rush back on a Friday, but it's an enjoyable course that asks a few different questions off the tees.
3, 4 and 5 are a sort of Amen Corner. If you survive those with your scorecard intact, you're in good shape.
Extremely slow play
Walked off after 9 holes, took 2 hours and 45 mins to play 9 holes as a 2-ball. Apparently a ladies match took place in the morning, no mention of that when arriving or booking. Not enjoyable, would probably never play here again after my experience
This course has a great layout.
The course has some very interesting holes.
Fairways and greens were very dry but that’s understandable considering the dry weather we’ve been experiencing.
Greens and bunkers need working on.
VERY SLOW PLAY - Great Course
Play was extremely slow took just short of 5 hours to get round the course.. No marshals helping speed up play.. However course conditions were amazing for the price! Can’t fault the value for money!
18 holes for two Easter Saturday
First time playing here in a while. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The course is in reasonable condition — the par 3 tee positions are currently closed so play is from mats, but this was clearly mentioned on the app. Greens were ok. The kitchen had closed by 5pm, but we were still able to grab coffee and crisps in the clubhouse, which was a nice touch.”
Tony
Course itself was ok considering all the wet weather, greens very bumpy. Biggest problem was the mats which you couldn't get a tea peg into.
Not good value
£50 in the winter off mats and with all the mud is not good value.
I think they would be better placed at £35, and then I would come back.
Course was closed cos of snow
Course was closed due to snow so have put in a report for money to be repaid to my account
First time playing the course thought it probably would be quite good in summer lots of interesting holes but very very muddy. Imagine it will be horrendous across January and February would definitely be somewhere I’d revisit in the summer months not somewhere I’d play again in winter.
Not in great condition.,
Promoted by some as the best draining course in the South East in November it was extremely muddy and sticky so can't imagine what other courses are like at the moment. Ordinarily £34 would be a great price but with winter mats in operation on every hole you would have expected a bit more of a discount. In fairness to the club this is advertised on the website but it doesn't say the mats are on "every" hole. Fairways are like semi rough at the moment although that may be protection because of the dampness. Greens however are very good especially for the time of year. At it's best the course is very good but it's unpredictable with Bletchingley as winter months are very muddy and some summer months it can be barren and dry, that said it is a good course to play at its best. The clubhouse and facilities are decent and the food is good in the clubhouse and there is a these days rare half way house that is open with decent hours.
