Just a nice water hazard to get over Photo submitted by Uz276GW53QTNlHsllAIs on 04/15/2021
Over rated
Played this course last week after being looking like a decent course online. Found all of the tee boxes to be in really bad condition off the yellows and also the whites. Some holes are interesting and provide a challenge but overall not a tough course . Some greens are really small which provides a good challenge . Wouldn’t return purely on condition of tees. Nice halfway hut for refreshment
Tee boxes are severly damaged, worn and uneven often with little or no grass, the greens were slow but both areas understandable due to the high footfall traffic of this popular gold course.
Tee boxes a disgrace
The Tee boxes on this course are nothing short of a disgrace, hardly any grass and basically playing off sand which makes it tough to get a consistent tee shot. Ruined the round from otherwise a lovely golf course, surely can’t cost too much for a golf club to sort out the tee boxes.
Fine Course
8 of us played on a humid and drizzling August day. We all really liked the interesting layout with elevation changes, dog legs and water. The course was in good nick considering the heat wave. Some tee boxes were a bit sandy but otherwise highly recommended. £50 price was a bit high though.
Bletchingly Golf Club
Thoroughly recommend this course, very challenging, greens and fairways were immaculate.
nice course
Interesting course with every hole separated from the next which was good. Could have had better signage on the actual tees and a shorter walk from green to tee but overall a very enjoyable course.
Course in terrible condition
The fairways are absolutely bone dry with almost no grass covering. To give you an idea of how dry it is, on the 16th hole I hit a 400 yard 5-hybrid (rolled for almost 200 yards on the fairway). The greens were better, looks like they have been watered - but would not be back anytime soon.
The greens should be better cared.
It was one of the driest and hottest day so the fairways were very understandably dry and grey. But the greens should be better.
So glad to be back
The team at Bletchingley have done a great job keeping the course in fine condition despite the Covid layoff. Greens are in excellent condition and faster than the average, a considerable achievement. The tee boxes are not as good as usual but as others have commented - who cares? You are hitting off a tee peg most of the time, not the slightly uineven surfaces.
As always, you need to think your way around this course. Wayward drives are punished and judicious use of 3 woods, rescue clubs and irons are often the best.
Nice and tight
Nice course. Some lovely picturesque Par 3s, a few dog leg holes and a lot of shortish par 4s. If you go wrong off the tee you’re in trouble, not as forgiving as a few other courses in the area.
Interesting layout, welcoming atmosphere
The course was in very good condition and had a varied layout with some tricky holes. Found it very enjoyable and great value for money. The staff and members were very welcoming and made this a course I would highly recommend playing. The only slight irritation was the speed of play. Unfortunately there was a group of four novices a couple of groups in front who were particularly slow. This did not stop making this a very pleasant day.
Hilly course
Over all good condition, , bad tee shots will be punished.. You will know you have played 18 holes at the end of the game. Not as fit as I thought I was,.
Great course
Well thought out course, every hole unique, never boring.
Nice stroll from greens to tees, very picturesque.
Good course but pace of play slow
Good course with a nice layout but the pace of play was very slow making for a very stop start round making it difficult to get into a good rhythm.
interesting course
Played here a few times - I like it. Greens good nick but SLOW! Tee boxes are often scruffy, but so what. Some interesting holes and I always enjoy playing there.
