Disapointment with Teeofftimes

I have played this course on a number of occasions over the past few years and it has always been enjoyable. On this occasion when we booked in we were told it was a 4 ball, I corrected the assistant that no we were a 2 ball which he looked confused at but accepted it and told us the going was slow because a society had turned up who turned up a week early? While waiting to start we were approached by two guys who said they had the same tee time as us and would we mind making up a 4 ball, which we agreed to. On talking to the assistant he said that teetimes do this regularly and book to two balls together.

Fair but challenging course.

Easter Sunday around lunchtime was obviously a good time to play at Bletchingley as it didn't seem too busy and we played at a nice pace.

The Par 3 holes on this course are definitely the longest I have played, on average, but they are mainly downhill with false-fronts so there's a little bit more decision making to be done. My advice is to use 1-club less, drop it short and let it run in.

This was especially true for the 234 Yard (Yellow Tees) 7th hole where all 3 in our group ended up on the group having come up 30 yards short of the green rather than trying to carry the ball all the way to the green.

There's a few dog-legs too that will require accurate club selection and on the 450yard 16th hole a straight drive could result in the ball ending up near the green as there is a massive slope once you get over the crest of the hill which you see from the tee-box.

The greens are also high quality, with a lot of greens requiring you to have a good eye for line as there's plenty of slopes and curves to deal with.

Overall, I loved this course. My home course is relatively flat and Bletchingley offers a bit of everything you need to have to think your way to a good score. If you like more of a challenge then Bletchingley is for you and even if you go offline on some lines there's still a fair chance of recovery sot it's not brutally punishing.

Definitely worth a visit and I for one will be back for more.

Great course, great value

Really nice course - had many good rounds here. One complaint: mats in use on some tees, and impossible to get tees into them. Also some were in poor condition.

Scenic Setting for a Pleasant Golf Course

Having booked a tee time for 1106, we arrived early enough to enjoy a coffee in the bar overlooking the 18th green.

As the course wasn't busy, we managed to start around 20 minutes ahead of time and played the entire round without having to wait and with no-one behind us!

In spite of one or two heavy showers, the course lived up to its reputation of free draining and we were delighted with the condition of the fairways and teeing grounds. The greens had recently been hollow tined and sanded, so were acceptable but not perfect.

The staff we encourage were helpful and friendly and the clubhouse is well appointed and comfortable.

In general, a very enjoyable visit to an interesting and scenically situated golf course.

Great course

Just finished a round at Bletchingley. We had superb weather for the beginning of Autumn. First time playing here. Great layout for holes and very tricky greens. The greens were still fast even though they had been tined. Can imagine them to be super slick during the summer. Great value for money at £20. Will definitely play here again.

Need to hit straight!!

Overall the course was in great condition , although the greens were not very smooth as they appear to have been treated recently and we're very bumpy!
