Bowring Park Golf Course

I have played this course a few times and it’s always in decent condition.

Nice variety of holes and a decent test and good value.

Played a 3 ball in very wet conditions, on arrival got changed in the car as a new clubhouse is being built, informed staff we were there, they are very helpful and explained parts of the course are in bad condition due to ongoing drainage work. Started the game and found fairway grass quite long, probably due to the weather, most bunkers were full of water, fallen leaves everywhere, even on greens, hate this time of year were the trees shed everything. Greens very wet and held water so made putting very difficult. Parts of the course so wet you sank while lining up to take a shot. It`s good to see that it`s obvious that major work is going on around the course so when the better weather comes back the course will be better placed to withstand the poor weather this time next year. Will continue to use this course as they are trying to improve it, it`s in a good location, it has some challenging holes and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Quick round as not many players out, fairways a bit overgrown, bunkers not maintained, greens ok. No clubhouse/locker room so got changed in car. Cheap price made things a bit better.

all in all its an average experience. Fairways not properly mowed. Bunkers often overgrown with grass. Greens are ok. Overall experience is average

Excellent course , friendly staff , id say it's as good as royal Liverpool, fairways and greens in beautiful condition will definitely be back had my best round here 84 well done me, my brother still beat me though with an 83. Be back soon

Staff very friendly on arrival, course in very good condition, easy enough for us average players but narrow at times to challenge the better players, downside is no clubhouse at the moment but as soon as you arrive you can see the building work going on, will defo continue to use the fantastic course.

Good course and challenging for a municipal golf course

Couldn’t play the 1st hole due to the building work going on. The course itself is well maintained but the tee times are not really adhered to. Found myself stuck behind two older players who didn’t offer for me to play through and then I had a party of 3 waiting behind me as soon as the 3rd tee. When there should be at least 5 minutes between tee times. Felt slow the whole way round. Hadn’t played this course in a year and will not be playing it anytime soon. Not impressed

played again within a week and the greens and fairways where miles better .

take drinks and food with you as they have no shop till the reverb is done.

anyone that plays here often enough knows this is a tough course when it rains as its very boggy in places.

massively improved the other side the fairways could do with a better cut but im sure that will come in next week.

the course was in good condition for this time of year. The greens were also in good condition. Major redevelopments going on at the moment on the club house etc so nothing do after the round has finished. My only criticism is the signage for each hole. Sometimes on certain holes you don't know were to go for the next hole so signage definitely needs to be improved

First time at course, was in decent condition, no major obstacles but plenty of bunkers to maneuver. Only real downside was no clubhouse or even any drinks in the fridge in the temporary office.

Greens in real good condition , building work underway to club house and entrance . Was a bit boggy in some areas but not unusual for time of year good value

Course was good for this time of year greens were excellant I have to say ! Course Has had some financial problems so I was told when booking in , I played knowing greens are playable all year round no temps so it’s a big plus !!

This is a well established municipal course, with some tight tree lined fairways, some dogleg holes with well placed bunkers & ditches but also some shorter easier holes so suits all handicaps.

Course currently in good nick especially fairways & greens.

Our round 4.5 hours, mainly due to relaxed policy on golfers of all abilities,& golf experience, which impacts on speed of play.

Be aware some regulars only play the short loop ie miss hole 5-11, which can cause delays on hole12.

.There is no clubhouse/ bar facilities, but local pub.is ok.

Played here many times over the years as its my closest course and it's getting better each year. Some challenging holes, fairways are perfect, greens very good and rough quite forgiving.
