BP
Average course overall it is very slow play and when i say slow i mean ques at every tee box, there is no dress code and there is people jogging and walking dogs as your playing, hardly any sign posts up to direct you to the holes, greens arent the best. Ok for price but plenty of courses for similar prices in and around Liverpool which i will sticking too in future.
A solid course
This course offered some fabulous holes. Some are very tricky to play.
Nice course but slow pace of play
Nice course, great layout and well kept for a municipal. Great value for money.
Only down side is very slow pace of play and groups in front do not let individual players play through.
Bowring park
Course well laid out, greens in need of some attention as loads of ball marks on a lot of them.
Worst course I’ve ever played
Poor layout, boggy all over, cutting the grass and not collecting the it, fairways like roughs, greens like roughs. First and last time I will play this course.
Awful
No signs about where next tee is
ground awful even in fairways
Bunkers terrible
No club shop open to get a card or drink
The course were nice apart from sand bunkers and got stuck behind a 4 balls game what we’re very slow and there were also a 3 ball game behind them so only ended up doing the front holes what were disappointing I can go round in 3 hours and took a hour and half to do 4 holes what I think is really bad but not the courses fault as I go there 2-3 times a year and never had that problem before
Bowring - a lovely municipal that could be anazing
I’ve played this course several times as it is the nearest course to my home but I have never joined it. There are some really lovely holes but then four par fours under or just over 300yds, which in today’s world is just not long enough, especially as there are no hazards. The trees are fabulous and the greens are usually above average. Sadly being a municipal you get players who don’t repair pitch marks and I have seen damaged greens from local idiots riding bikes over them, when the course has been closed. But for the price it is still good value and there are a couple of truly lovely golf holes .
It’s also one of the oldest municipals in the country.
Excellent value
Played as a two ball today and despite the recent heavy rain the course was unaffected. Greens were very decent and friendly staff member stated fairways to be cut ASAP due to a technical fault but they were more than playable anyway.
If they get the off the course layout right this could be a gem but for 16 quid much better than it's local competitors.
Great course but still needs work
Overall the course is great to play and I would recommend to friends. The greens and bunkers need more work and the course needs 100 and 150 yards markers. Some of the fairways where long and could do with cutting shorter.
Great value for a round
- Well cut fairways
- Forgiving layout
- No warm up area or pitch and putt
- No drinks, food or pencils in reception
- Tee boxes are worn
- Greens very hard
- Bunkers poorly maintained
Worth it for £12 though.
Worth your money
Decent golf course, some lovely hole layouts. Really enjoyable. Great value for money! £12 for a round in a summer month you can’t go wrong
