Improving
Last played here about two years ago. The conditions of the course have improved. The fairways and the layout are better. Only downside are the greens are a little scuffed up but overall improving.
Good course but the semi-rough is very penal
Enjoyed this course again though it suffers from some areas of very soft and boggy ground. The rough just off some of the fairways I think has been left fairly thick to combat this but it causes some penal losses of only slightly misdirected balls. On a few occasions we found a number of balls in this semi-rough though not our own. Enjoyed the challenge though!
Greed destroys courses
How on earth this course wasn’t closed today is a travesty, there is no point keeping unplayable courses open just to make a few quid. Turned up today to be told only 9 holes open and it’s boggy out there...err why is it open then
9 holes may have been open, but nothing short of wellies and a pair of water wings would suffice. Shame as the course is normally good in the summer, but with insane decisions to keep the course open on day like today will only destroy it and it’s failing reputation. Balls landing on centre of fareway and being lost due to plugging are not conditions to keep a course open......terrible decision to keep open and unfair to any paying patrons.....won’t be going back any time soon
Course bit boggy in areas but overall good.
Course wet and soggy 10-13 apart from that considering weather good overhaul greens in excellent condition .

A lovely municipal course in really good condition greens and fairways
good neat course well maintianed
good fair ways, excellant challanging greens,also some greens are well protected around front,
Not too bad!
In decent condition for time of year, well looked after, slow play in front not managed well, but still a nice flat course to play.

regular player at bowring have never seen the greens so good ud think you were abroad there that good course is in great nick for a muni give it a go you will enjoy it
