Bramshaw Golf Club - Forest Course

Could be really good, but animal foot prints everywhere makes it really difficult to predict where on earth your ball will end up.

Some really good holes, but the first four holes put you off straightaway.

Friendly members, and good for those starting the game.

As per golf shop pro, because the forest course is in the grounds of The New Forest, they are unable to maintain the course as they would like. Purely natural with ponies and horses roaming as they should. Slightly awkward when they are on the greens but they soon move off.

Holes 3&4 were shut with no price discount and we were also not notified of this by staff

First tee Not near clubhouse, damaged by cattle and ponies , missing next tee signs, greens rough.

Bramshaw golf club is a good set up apart from the forest course, it is a good 500yds to the first tee and you have to drive to it assuming the pro shop points this out (which they didnt) and we initislly started walking only to phone the shop and return for our car.

It is a forest course and as duch suffers from horse and cattle damage, the main gripe is the lack of next tee signs for visitors, which is annoying.

Showed up to play this course early luckily enough to be told we cant let u play today we cant have u play the other course and was left without being able to play a round of golf and told they couldn’t do anything about it. No warning untill we got there so very disappointed

Hole 3 & 4 completely unplayable due to the horse hoves in the ground from the weather this year.. Decided to walk back to the car after the 4 hole as it’s just not worth twisting my ankle to playing these awful conditions.

Have played here a few times and strongly recommend this place. Good facilities and a nice layout on the course.

Superb course for a relatively low price in modern day golf. Having to worry about potentially hitting some roaming horses really sums up how raw this course is. And yet the ground conditions were great everywhere, especially the greens. Very tricky course putting anyone’s skills to the test, but no matter how much it catches you out you can’t help but love it. Definitely be playing here again for many years to come.

Played the forest course, didn’t expect the world but wasn’t good. Understand it’s a forest course but £36 for that is a robbery.

I cannot put into words how poor this place is.

From the miserable clubhouse pro behind the till to the course layout and condition.

This is nothing more than some semi manicured greens placed in the middle of fields. In fact they have ruined the new forest countryside with this poor excuse for a golf course.

It is the worst course I have played worldwide in the last 20 years. To pay £35 to play somewhere and not even be able to tell whether you have hit fairway or rough is unacceptable.

Save yourself £35 and go to your local field it will be better.

A quirky course in the New Forest. Greens were in excellent condition considering the various animals that wander around.

A minor criticism is the lack of signage. There is a need for signs indicating where the next Tee is and also the hole layout.

The signs are on tee box giving yardage etc but the layout should also be added in my opinion

Just some tee boxes and greens in the middle of the new forest. It’s okay if you want to take the dog for a walk while you play golf but you can’t tell where you’re going because you can’t tell where the fairway ends and the rough begins!!

The manor course looks nice but is also very pricey for what it is!

No amenities on this course as detached from main club house

Fairways none existent trampled by wild life and covered in horse faeces, which meant playing the ball as it lie’s impossible.

The layout of the holes were very good and all greens are protected by some sort of stream or water hazard.

The green were in ok condition but had recently been punched in high jade putting difficult.

We had the first tee time of the day yet there was people out in front of us somehow.

The pro shop wasn’t open upon arrival so we checked in about 2 minutes before our tee time.

We then had to drive half a mile up the road to the first tee where there was no facilities to warm up on.

Overall I feel this would be a totally different course to play in the summer but as a winter golf course it isn’t great.

The course is always well maintained. Greens in good condition. Deer, Horses, Cattle & Pigs add to the challenging nature of this course. Always one of my favourite places to play.
