Enjoyable round
Teed off at 10am and it was really quiet. Really enjoyed our round and for £30 it was definitely good value for money.
Golf day
Reading some previous reveiws was a little apprehensive about it but ended up a Good day out , course layout was very good .course conditions could have been better due to recent hot weather the greens very hard and dry could have done with watering. The teeing areas where heavily sanded and worn but ok would definately play again
Great course
Really enjoyable round of 18, very well kept course and nice layout too
So slow
Course was in decent condition and for £25 was good value but pace of play was appalling. After waiting on every shot on the front nine I got the 10th to find three (!) groups waiting to tee off. Gave up at that point.
Appreciate they have 10 minutes gaps between tees already and can't really extend that but they need to manage this much better when it gets that backed up.
1 hour for first 3 holes!
Booked in for Bank holiday Monday with a midday tee off time or 2 of us and were put with another 2 for a 4 ball which was fine by us and they didnt mind either. The course was stacked and the people in front of us were late teeing off (shoulld of been a group at 11.40 and a group at 11.50 then us at 12) at 11.50 there were 6 guys at the tee. Off the first three went and then the second group. By the time we teed off (about 12.05) there were already another 3 behind us waiting to go.
The 11.40 group were so slow that every hole we got too we were then waiting for them and the 11.50 group to tee off but then as we were walking the fairways the group behind were hitting their tee shots at us!
An hour in a we had only completed 3 holes!! It was very frustrating and sadly after 9 holes we decided to call it a day rather than play the back 9 which was already stacked at the 10th tee - Shame really as its a beautiful course, superb breakfast and warm up facilities and we had gone to make a day of it
Excellent
Course in superb condition, greens excellent
A small comment- just off fairways grass is so long balls get lost so easily- i know i should stay on fairways but clearly not good enough!!
Enjoyable Round
The course played well, was mostly in good condition, with the fairways nicely cut, save for one or two bunkers with a few stones in them. Usually a pleasure to play here, today was no exception. Very nice afternoon.
Considering the amount of rain weve had lately the course is in not to bad condition 2 of the holes fairways are in bad way 1st and 10th
Great course looking forward to playing when we get some dryer weather
Good value for money
Played this course many times now and can’t argue with a Twilight rate of £20 from 12pm. Given the wet last few months the course is eventually starting to dry out and they managed to cut the fairways. Went round as solo today but usually as a two ball and it does get busy when the weather is nice,, expect to do 18holes in just over 4 hrs.
Unplayable should have been closed
The course should be closed
I get it, it’s been raining a lot this winter, but what was most frustrating is that they still charge full price to play in a bog!!
I can’t imagine the damage that is being done to the course right now
Plus 4 hours 40 minutes for a two ball is far too slow! No course marshal either
Very disappointing. The course was unplayable
Should have been shut
I get that’s it’s been a very wet winter. But honestly I’d rather the course was honest and said “this course is too wet, it’s closed here is your money back”
At the very least should have been a discounted rate. Charging full rate on a course that was all but unplayable is disgusting
And I can’t imagine the damage that is being done to the course
To top off a bad experience, teed off at 8:50 an it took 4 hours and 40minutes for a two ball. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for every shot. No marshal to speed things up either.
This HAS to be closed.
I cannot believe this course is open, let alone allowing trolleys, buggies etc. We were told it's "playing well" on arrival and after just 5 holes we decided enough was enough. No temporary greens, but for any normal golf club this wouldn't be the case with standing water. It's actually disrespectful to the course itself to allow it to be open in this terrible state. £20 seemed like a steal in this day and age, but unfortunately I would have rather spent my money elsewhere. We were hopeful after reading social media posts about the course conditions, and we actually didn't expect much after the recent weather, but this is nothing short of a cow field at the moment. If GolfNow did refunds I would expect one here without a shadow of a doubt. If you are a decent golfer and not just a hacker, stay well away.
Great course.
I mean for value and for the fact it was January 4th and everything was frozen. The course was holding up very well. Would recommend this course to any level of golfer.
Shame really could have been better
Greens had a good pace for the time of year and the course wasn’t in bad condition although none of the bunkers had been raked for days the sand was compacted like a path with footprints and divots from previous players, pace of play was slow until a group of members decided to jump in front of other paying guests causing the play to slow down even further decided to call it quits after 10 hole as it was taking too long and daylight was fading
A foggy new years eve!
Given the time of year, the cource is in pretty good condition. All 18 greens were open with only 1 hole (10th) reduced to a par 3.
Despite being extremely foggy the pace of play was good.
If there is one gripe, I would say the club house is looking a little tired & needs a bit of TLC. (one of the toilet doors is missing....) but the staff are very welcoming & friendly.
Definitely worth a visit.
Very slow play no etiquette
Been a regular course for me over the past 10 years but recent few years this course has gone down hill due to being available on golf now and the way it’s run, flooding the course with as many players as possible with buggy’s on at this time of year churning the fairways up people doing donuts all over show even saw 6 people with buggy’s on one hole, players not letting other players cos there slow play, people skipping holes to try in front of slow play causing more slow play. 3rd time of playing the course we’ve had to walk off after 11 holes taking nearly 4 hours. Feel sorry the members
Great condition considering…..
Given the amount of rain we have had lately the course has held up well.
Wet day out
Concidering all the rain we had thi week the course was in ptetty good condtion. Cant complain for the price,
