Lovely views from the back 9

The weather was perfect and we managed an early tee ahead of a couple of societies which meant no waiting around. The course has generous fairways and excellent greens and some bunkers to catch first timers like me. The back 9 offered splendid cliff top views along the chalk coast. The course played well and is ideal for high handicapped players provided the shots keep to the fairways. Relaxing at the 19th hole was delightful as the clubhouse balcony overlooked both the 10th tee and 1Oth pin. Overall this round was enjoyable and represented decent value for money.

Worst I've played

I played here in the middle of the summer and shot 76(+4) gross,(handicap is 7). Fairways like rough greens like fairways and slow play was certainly not what I expected. The course was in very poor condition for this time of year, the greens played like winter greens, to make it worse they were flooding them with water at 6pm to make them even slower. They have rearranged the 18 holes so it can be played in 2 ways, this does not work as where they both meet at 15 everyone gets held up so pace of play was very slow to say the least. Bunkers are real bunkers with a superb layout only shame is they are filled with stones (MAY AS WELL PLAY OFF MY GRAVEL DRIVE). I found this to be very dissapointing in the middle of the summer as the course is an excellent layout with some beautiful holes just a shame they don't look after it very well, I won't be returning for sure.
