Beware of the couple of holes that play over greens

Fairly enjoyable course and easily walkable without a buggy or trolley.

Couple of fairways play quite tightly parallel to each other up and down. The issue I had (and maybe my own doing not paying attention), there are a couple of holes where the tee box plays over the green of the prior hole. if you don't know the course this may not be immediately obvious and can upset the group in front of you if you're on the green preventing them teeing off. I may have missed the note on the tee box advising of this but it caused a bit of friction putting me on the defensive neither being local or having knowledge of the course. Other than that I managed to get around in under 3 hours with several polite groups allowing me to play through as a single player.

Visiting area

Mixture of Parkland and links beautiful layout . Start of the season trip saw lots of work and effort been put in by the green keepers only issue 1 4 ball group driving over the tops of peoples heads and not ringing the bells as late to start there competition so literally trying to race through the course . Excluding that issue the course was fantastic scenically and friendly staff would return .

East coast

We had a great day at Filey G C. The course was in great condition and although it was very busy it moved along nicely. We enjoyed it that much we returned the next day. It was well worth the 2 hour drive ! If your at the east coast and looking for a round you won’t be disappointed playing here

OUR FAVOURITE YORKSHIRE COAST COURSE

My wife and always enjoy playing this fabulous course. Even in March( with alot of courses closed/with limitations in the surrounding areas) it didn't disappoint and was fully open and in brilliant condition. Very welcoming pro, staff and members . A challenging but fair track especially when the day was v.windy. First two and last two holes on the cliff top with great views over filey bay. Middle holes offer a little shelter from the wind and of beautiful parkland nature. Would thoroughly recommend you give Filey a go- you'll be glad you did!

Windy weather
Walked

Extraordinary Links-Parkland fusion course

Geographically stunning course which blends very windy links holes with stunning parkland holes that undulate and rise/fall dramatically. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, and all the members have a smile and say hello. Fairway mats in operation on this February winter day, but given all the rain we've had that is understandable - not that the course isn't well drained in most places. Highly recommended golf club, and don't forget the 9-hole Academy course, which is also WHS rated.

Filey the finest

The whole experience on the day was exceptionally good from walking into the pro shop to confirm my booking to warming up on the putting green.

All the members I met were very friendly and helpful.

I will be returning to play the course before I finish my holidays and I can't recommend the course enough as it is in fantastic condition given the weather we had earlier this year.

Some nice quirky holes

I enjoyed the course because it had so many different shaped holes with some cracking views.

I will be returning to the course within the next month to play it knowing what the layout is and hoping to improve my score.

Struck Gold With This Booking

Completely by chance my booking was the last round before a Charity Afternoon Tournament at the club. The course was therefore immaculately set up and in superb condition with barely a single weed visible in any part of the rough. As such my confidence quickly grew during my round and I had one of my best ever rounds. I'll certainly want to play here again whenever I'm back in this part of Yorkshire.

Filey GC

First and last few holes on the cliff top are true links holes and great. The middle parkland section not quite as good but in great condition and overall a fun course to play. Experience only spoiled by the loud music booming out from a nearby sow but like being at a LIV tournament 😂. Great clubhouse and staff so thanks very much for a super first visit.

Played last night after work as I’m working in the area. Fantastic condition. Only the 2nd time I’ve played the course. And thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a great set up with some fantastic views. Great value for money. I hope to play the course a few more times. I can imagine on comp days them greens when slick will be a challenge. I will be back
